Title: Odd text to speech problem

whenever text to speech comes up instead of speaking the words it spells them out one letter at a time. Any idea what i can do to fix this?

You're right. That is odd. :)

I see nothing on the speech control panel that could cause this so unless you've got a 3rd party speech tool installed it's unlikely to be a problem with windows.

 Is this in a user created mission or in the techroom? If it's the former try the latter and report back.

Hm. There's a chance that there are certain words it doesn't know how to pronounce. You say it's all the speech?

its right after the first cutscene in the freespace 1 mod also the test command -query_speech does this as well

i got it kinda working now i had to uninstall the microsoft speeck sdk for some reason it got stuck on the TTS sample voice and i couldn't change it. any idea on how to remove that voice from the machine for just install microsoft mike and mary's voices?

Is the word all in capitals?
