Alright, bpth these cards have dropped into the 225-250 price range.... which card should i pick? I compared benchmarks that were BOTH ON HEXUS.NET... The X850 Pro is better..... but which would you pick??
other cards in that price range are welcome, NO NVIDIA!!

Why did you post a new thread on this? You already have like five recent threads on this topic. As I said in your last one, get a GTO2.

im sorry.... this is making me panic, i didnt know what to do....

You better get one quickly, at any rate. People are starting to catch on to the truth about these cards and they're going out of stock or being price gouged almost everywhere. (most sites increased the price from $200 to $300 yesterday, although you can still find them for $220 if you look around a bit)
-
found it at computerhq.com for 239 total, including shipping..... heres the link....Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 GTO2 (http://www.computerhq.com/Sapphire_ATI_X800GTO2_256M_GDDR3/100130/hardware/partinfo-id-565637.html) yea the price gougeing is unreasonable...... hate that!!!
availability on that site is 'CALL', so im going to place the order and see what happens... they just got a shipment of those cards in....
EDIT: Did i mention that newegg took them off their site? i wonder why.... maybe they arent selling them anymore? i hope not!!!
-
They bumped the price to $300 yesterday and went out of stock this morning from what people are saying.
-
does anyone recognize that store, Computerhq.com? Im a little sketchy about em...
EDIT: I can also get it from Allstarshop.com, not too sure about them either... Called sapphire, they say zipzoomfly will be getting a shipment next week... should i wait, or juss go ahead and use the computerhq.com?
-
Wow, you sound like me when buying a piece of hardware. Save the dough and get the card that has the potential to be one of the expensive cards for the lower price.
-
www.resellerratings.com
Use that.

I wish they had an AGP version. I would have been all over it. I could actually both make money and get better performance if I sell my 6800 GT on ebay (the BFG ones go for about $230 used). This is quite an insane deal, easily the best thing in at least the last two years.

I would just go ahead with it. Allstar seems to have good ratings. Even if some of the better known sites get new shipments of them, they are still going to keep charging $300 now that they know how popular these are.

computerhq.com has an AGP version.... Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 GTO2 AGP (http://www.computerhq.com/Sapphire_ATI_X800GTO2_AGP_256MB/100131/products/partinfo-id-567445.html)

no, i use tomshardware!!!

Wonder how much you can get for an XFX 6800 gt. probably not too much.
Anyone got confirmation that the AGP ones unlock as well?

Very interesting. I looked into this a bit though and it seems that Sapphire is in fact claiming that no AGP GTO2s exist, so I don't know what to make of it. Maybe it's a misprint. That site's ratings suck anyway, so I wouldn't trust them.

It's probably around $200. I think in general, the AGP GTs have all been discontinued and are holding their value better than their PCIE counterparts.
Idiot.
Judging from some of the articles I've seen there lately, I have to agree.
-
They're immensely biased, and have been for years.
-
$200, huh? Hm. Well, I've half a mind to switch to a PCI-e mobo anyway, but it's one of those things. Of the games I have, the ones I actually play nVidia tends to do better in.
As for Tom's, I kinda lost any respect I had for them after that very, very odd dual core 'stability' test.
-
Took you that long? I lost respect for them when they gave glowing reviews to Prescott.

the thing is, noone seems able to agree on towards who they're biased.

biased on what? I use tomshardware for pricing... I use mainly Hexus for reviews.... they're the best!

whats so bad about prescott? sure it makes more heat, but its faster than northwood....
-
No it's not. Why do you think the Gallatin-based (Northwood with extra cache) 3.46ghz P4 EE generally outperforms the Prescott-based 3.73ghz P4 EE?
I mainly go to Xbit and Tech Report for articles. Anandtech used to among the best but lately they have been putting out too many incomplete articles. As for pricing, Pricewatch and Shopping.com search more vendors and Reseller ratings has more vendor opinions than any of the hardware review sites.
-
this is a sad day for me..... unfortunatly, i can no longer afford the X800 GTO2.... its has reached prices of $250, which is okay for me, but only at the unknown vendors, is it at that price.... Im going to have to go with an X850 Pro, and deal with that....
-
the x800 xl is only 50 bucks more than the X850 pro..... its got a slight performance gain, but it has 16 pipes instead of 12? opinions?
SAPPHIRE Brand ONLY!!!
