Would someone remind me how to...erm...how to make it so that other wings that start off wiht you don't show up on the loadout and ship selection screen?

I forgot....:o

I believe as long as they aren't Alpha, Beta, or Gamma wings, they won't show up, but that may not be true anymore, thanks to some code for non-standard wingnames.

If having them show up at the loadout (i.e. able to change their ordonnance) is a problem, you can simply check the "Locked" tab in the Ship Editor.

Also they won't appear in the loadout screen at all if you change the corresponding Starting Wing Name (Mission Specs>Custom Wing Names) to something else.

It's not about messing with their loadouts - it's about them not showing up so the player desnt know they will be there when he first plays the mission..

But granted, Locked may be good way to deal with this...

Locked just greys them out so you can't change them in any way, it doesent take them off of the question screen.

I don't know i'm afraid. I had a look and couldn't find anything.

Hm...that's a rather unwanted solution...the thing is I WANT the wings to be called Beta, Gamma and Delta...oh well....

Ransom's solution will indeed achieve your aim. His solution changes which wings will be shown in the loadout screen not the wing names in the mission. If you change Beta and Gamma in the starting wing name line to something that doesn't exist in the mission, only Alpha wing will be shown in the loadout screen. This way you still have Beta and Gamma wings in the mission, just not in the loadout.

Erm...wait a sec.. so I have Alpha, Beta, Gamma adn Delta wings..

So to remove beta Gaama and Delta from the loadout I have to replace their names with something else in the Custom wWing Names?

Delta will never appear on the loadout by default. What you need to change is the Starting Wing Names option. Do not touch the others or those wings will no longer be represented on the HUD for you any more.
