I was listening to sound files out of the FS2 campaign, and check out the admiral promotion sound!

Indeed. You could simply sense the pleasure in the Psamtik's message when it ordered the beam cannons to toast the Belisarius. I think you could easily change that line around and it would make sense--"Gunnery control, fry that ****er!"

Bearbaiting has some of my favorite lines throughout the game, which is why I was all over it when Goober uploaded his recorded version of the mission. The entire opening dialogue sequence really gave the urgency and danger of the situation and mixing it in with afterburners firing, the Sathanas beam cannons tearing up the Phoenicia, the dialogue, and the music altogether it happens to be one of my favorite FS2 moments ever. I think the Phoenicia's line sums it all up:

"Command, I will not jeapordize the lives of my crew! Either you deploy more ships now or we will withdraw. We cannot hold this position without additional fleet assets!"

Or Alpha 2's line: "Then they must know this mission is suicide."

Snipes has plenty of good ones besides "Dive! Dive! Dive!" as well:

"Roger that SOC, Snipes here. Much obliged. Hope you brought a transport."

well, actually I can't remember the exact words but it's when the last ship from kappa wing is almost screaming for command to get the fleet out of the nebula.

The best three are in FS1, and they differ from the actors:

"We aren't sure how you've done it, but you are hereby promoted to the prestigious rank of Rear Admiral. We think you cheated."

The one above comes with an alteration with the female voice, where instead of saying "We think you cheated", she says "Jerky".

"You really must've cheated to get this rank. You want to sit behind a desk or something? This is what Vice Admirals do."

"You really have got to stop cheating. This could become a natural thing for you, and that would be bad. Go on Admiral Cheater, I think you have to perform some ceremony or inspection or something."

The .wav files are 1_rank_g and onwards and 3_rank_g and onwards in FS1 (one of the .vp's in data IIRC).

Um.. that wasn't the Bellasarius.  That was during "The Great Hunt II", and I think it was Command.  The 2 corvettes in that mission were the Lysander and the Actium.

Not sure if anyone knows, but the guy who did Admiral Bosch's voice also played the main villain in Total Recall, if anyone's seen the movie.  I checked the credits.

Yes.  He (Ronnie Cox) also plays Kinsey in Stargate SG-1, and has a bunch of other credits.

Admiral Petrarch (Robert Loggia) was in Independence Day as a general.

Kurtwood Smith apparently (according to imdb) did the Colossus voiceover; he was also a baddy in Robocop (Boddiger).

The intro was done by Stephen Baldwin (imdb wrongly credits him as Snipes), who has a more famous brother.

He also played the Federation president in Star Trek VI.

In addition to the "DIVE, DIVE, DIVE", "News from the front" is also very cool.

Don't ask why, but I just find that scene very emotion-packed for some reason + it's good to know whats happening in the frontlines.

Yeah, the first set is from m-03b (Blockade Run) and the other two are from Templar-02 (Chasing the Threat) and Templar-04 (Final Outpost). Operation Templar really has some cool moments.

This is one of my favorite multi missions. IIRC, this was the one with the triple-Aeolus-rapid-beam-fire on the Vasudan destroyer, right?

That's the one, although the enemy ship is a Terran corvette. The Righteous fires its SGreens several times in quick succession before it blows itself up. This part is really well done, as it keeps firing them while it's blowing up and it really looks like the beams are out of control.
 
I don't know who was the bigger idiot in that mission, the Retribution captain for telling everyone to remove overload safeties or the Righteous captain for listening to him. :D

When I first played that mission, I took a large drink just as I hit "commit".  Big mistake.  Definitely one of the best quotes in game, if not the best.
