Vince formed Sunday and quickly became a hurricane up in the far east Atlantic, and early Monday morning it became the first fully Tropical System to hit Spain in recorded history.
Also of note, Vince formed farther north and east than any other TS in history.
Vince formed over 73 degree water, hurricanes need atleast 80 degree water to survive, so no "this was caused by Global warming" excuses.:p
One more named storm remains, Wilma, if a storm gains that name, the next stomrs name will be Alpha.

Vince becoming a hurricane, and quickly moving into Span.

Global Warming is just a myth perpetuated by Greenies and Commies, damnit!
Or not.

I just simply think the Earth realised we're a virus and is trying to shake us off.

Wow... This really hasn't been a good year for natural disasters, has it...

Wowsers. I guess they need to start using all the letters of the alphabet now, since it's nearly for certain that there will be a Wilma.
-
Just a curious question, where exactly in Spain is it thought to hit?
:blah:

Same here. It's inevitable. Trying to prevent it will simply make things worse.

This might not be a bad thing in some ways; I think the Algarve has only just came out of a months long drought. When I was there a month or so ago, you could see how the rivers had receded in terms of feet (whatever river it is that lies on the way into Portimao was more or less gone).

or has it, in fact, been a great year for natural disasters?

Eh? The global warming 'excuse' related to an overall rise in sea temperatures. So if - and I say 'if' as they're still theorising - higher average sea temperatures are due to global warming, then it'd definately be down to that.

I hoping for Alpha, as long as it doesn't become a fire breathing monster like Kat or Rita. Whitch if the upper level winds stay like they are now, it's not gonna happen.

Alpha ONE, maybe. That'd be kickass.
