Title: Switching Over the FAQ
Post by: karajorma on October 16, 2005, 02:19:53 pm
I'm in the process of swapping over from the old version of the FAQ to the new one so don't be surprised if things stop working for a little while.

In the meanwhile here's the VBB's Trick of the Week (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/FAQ/TrickWeek/Trick1.htm) thread to keep you going :)

Always wanted to get another look at that thread. :) Thanks.

It's interesting to see all the old timers in it. :D

I found it rather funny that less than a month after I first opened FRED and first registered I was already pushing for heavier use of variables :)

Okay everything is switched over. If anyone spots a dead link it's not intentional any more :D

If you've not visited the beta version I've posted a couple of times there's a whole load of new stuff including explainations of string variables and the when-argument conditional SEXPs for you FREDders.

There's a list of tools now for the Modders & FREDders amongst you that should hopefully lessen the number of "Where can I find x" threads. If I've missed anything (I'm sure I have) feel free to shout out.

I could also use links to any of the VP tools apart from VPView, VPCS or Polonius. With the search borked I can't find the others.

Hey, I thought you were going to move everything into the Wiki. :(

I will be moving stuff over to the wiki too. But I was sick of the FAQ being full of incorrect information and also I find it easier to do everything in HTML first. :)

The advantage I have with the FAQ is that I can do everything my way (which makes it easier to make the content that way and then try to slot it into the wiki).

I'll state again that I have no problem with anyone else practicing wholesale theft from my FAQ in order to put it into the wiki so if anyone wants to add something to the wiki and my FAQ explains it feel free to steal it and edit it until it fits.

Maybe you should put a Creative Commons license (or similar) on your page. :D
