That's a generality. A LOT of punk rock is for posers, but not all of it.

Not quite.  If you're thinking of Blink 182/Good Charlotte/Sum41, then you're correct, but that's pop punk.  I have no idea why the name 'punk' is in the name of the genre, because quite frankly, it's more like pop angst.  If you listen to REAL punk like Sex Pistols/The Clash, then you'd know it's definately not for posers.

I'll go ahead and say that British television is smarvelous, for being a)original and entertaining and b)very filthy, mostly at the same time. That ad was, as they say "the dog's bollocks".

Of course punk is for posers, most music is, every musician makes music with the intent of someone else hearing it, even if they are writing the music itself for themselves.

Real Punk, however is 'in your face', it's a blaring off of inner anger and frustration at full volume. Introverts can't do that, and the music tends to attract extroverts instead ;)
