Game starts in 15 min for now.

Okay. Lurking online. It's not 20:00GMT for another hour though :D
-
Today same time.

Hi,
When I want to play TBP multiplayer there never seem to be a running game server. Is there a problem with my config or is it just that there is almost nobody playing TBP multiplayer?
Is there any other place to check in for games?
-
Multiplayer for freespace isn't popular so it's not surprising that there isn't much of a TBP presence online.
You probably just never logged on when there was a game running.
I think the best thing to do is to organise a tournament. There has been some signs of a Freespace one being organised. Might be an idea to have a B5 one. There are a few people who want to play B5 online after all. :)

Freespace Frenzy?
-
How about setting up a regular game on Monday at 2000 GMT or something? Those who play can then post their stats for their pilot stats for the evening in this thread and we can laugh at them :D
-
Not a bad idea. Monday night is the one night a week I always have free too :)
We'd probably need a midnight game for the yanks but seeing as how there are a dispropronate number of europeans who play TBP compared with Yanks that might not be bad time for a game :)
-
Sound good. How's going to run the server?
-
The standard multiplayer server should work. It will complain about hacked tables but who cares :)
Unless you mean who's going to host the game? Well we can decide on that one when the time comes :)
-
I tried starting multiplayer game recently and when I clicked to start the game, Freespace crashed. I've tried more recent builds, but have gotten the same result. Are there any other modifications I need to perform to unlock the secret of multiplayer?
-Edit-
Nevermind, got that figured out, but I tried getting on the same time as a friend and we were unable to see each other's games. Is there something I'm missing?
-
What was causing it?
And did you and your friend have the same build?
-
If you're genuinely interested and able to play TBP multiplayer at 2000 GMT on a Monday then come forward now.
I cannot unfortunately as I have no home PC.
-
The problem was in the build. I thought I was using the correct one, but I was mistaken. And yes, we were using the same build. I'm certain of this, since I provided the file for him myself after I discovered that it worked.
Also, I will try getting on on Monday, to see what what happens. It may be the network firewall at my college that preventing me from reaching the server, but we'll see. At any rate, I'll be there. Hopefully you'll see me...
-
Remeber use the launcher. :)

I hope that old team-vs-team mission I cobbled together in about one day nearly four years ago isn't still in circulation. That one where the Olympus, Hyperions, and Novas go at it in consecutive rounds? Black Sheep's voice over work was the only redeeming part of that things. *sigh* Those were the days...
-
:bump:
Okay. Seeing as how clocks went back this weekend and 8pm my time is now 8pm GMT this makes it easier for me :)
If anyone is interested I'll be running a game at 8pm (I'll stay till about quater past to see if anyone shows up).
If anyone wants to actually host we can discuss once we're all gathered. I'm just running the game to see who turns up and so that we have a place to chat :)

At the moment the only missions I have are the two in the missions pack. If there are more feel free to point them out :)
