Personally this quote shows my emotions towards this...

seriously man, people during and after the world wars were sooo much smarter than they are now... (wishes he could summon some cruise missiles into the source of "hates" window)....

I mean, thats like someone at the west indian day parade saying, "Oh Haitians, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Dominicans are not West Indian", BUT INSISTS THAT PANAMANIANS ARE WEST INDIAN!!! :rolleyes: (yes there are those who say they are, but if u ever went to school, and we know guys at HLP do, they remember Panama is in Central America, like DUH!!!) I swear man the idiocracy they ellected into office. atleast the previous rullers were somewhat educated!

It seems everyone is convinced the planet is going to hell in a handbasket, and are making sure the prophecy is self-fulfilling.

Their reason for doing it? A leader of their military wing was killed in a shootout, oh, and they wanted to show that unlike Hamas, they are unwilling to accept that anything can be solved politically.

(BTW This will be the only time, and last time u see me say what i said above on this forum.... so please dont flame my opinion).

And though it was "officially" done by Britain, the UN had their hand in the proceedings from the start. Israel was created, in part, out of sympathy for the victims of the Holocaust, despite that not actually being a matter of public record.

EDIT: Firecrack: It was '48, but close. And your point's still valid.

'48. IIRC, it was called the "United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine".

Yes. I would.

IIRC, Israel was created by the UN Partition Plan under UN Resolution 242...

You'd be thinking of the Palestine Mandate, which originally put the British in charge of handling Palestine. The 1947 deal came around when the UN actually moved the Jewish settlers into Israel.

Probably the British Mandate and also the Balfour Declaration, which was when the Brits promised the Jews that they'd get their own state in the mandate eventually.
