A bizarre bug that popped up in the stock campaign...
Command sends in reinforcements thanks to the dire situation (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/tempscreenshot/support.jpg)
They quickly establish a defensive perimeter around the Bastion (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/tempscreenshot/support2.jpg)
Meanwhile, they continue replicating... (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/tempscreenshot/support3.jpg)
Unfortunately, I didn't get a screenie of my wingman yelling "Disengaging now for repair!". He probably died...they usually do. :p
-
Sounds like Karajorma's bug returned...
-
That's so cool :D
-
.......
At least there won't be any Shivans getting through that kind of defense, eh? :D
Well unless you have been playing with that bug Karajorma found, I don't know what happened there.
Alpha 1: "Command, we need more help out here!"
Command: "Stand by, we're sending in reinforcements now."
*Hundreds of fighters start jumping in*
Alpha 1: "..."
Edit: Oh wait, those are support ships. Never mind. Still rather amusing.
-
Well, it still works. Instead of a formidable army you just have a mess of meatshields. :)
-
"Operation: Human shield"...
-
Support ships breed like rabbits.
-
Oh. Dear. God.
-
That is quite possibly the coolest bug I have ever seen.
-
Well.. I had this bug too, I think...
But I didn't SEE anything...
Well... I played a mission (Where the 3rd Fleet HQ gets evacuated) and when Lambda 2 jumped in, the game didn't react anymore and then FS2 Crashed to xterm where it says, that it can't handle more than 400 Ships...
-
You have to be quick about it. It seems that at first they start spawning in a line, but then one collides with another, colliding with another, and another, and so on, like dominos...then they fly all over the place. :D
-
I started crakin up when i saw the suport ships. Holy cow doo man, ..wow.
-
Can you imagine lighting one of those things up? The combined ammunition that all those ships are carrying could be meson-like in strength! :p
-
Now send them on a kamikaze mission against a sathanas.
-
I wish I had that many support ships available. I hate waiting for the stupid AI wingmen to finish reloading before the support ship comes around to me. Acually, just yesterday I had a really annoying event occur. I needed to reload my bombs quickly, but the support ship was trying to rearm some AI fighter and there was an Orion right between the two of them, so the support ship just kept ramming into the Orion and wasn't going anywhere while the AI guy sat still and waited for it to come. Had to restart the mission.
-
I usually just fire a shot or two at either the support or the Ai waiting to get them to flee to another spot and get it done...

GTVA should have sent a couple hundred thousand of those to destroy the Sathanas fleet. :D

I'd probably suffer a sudden, total, prolonged weapons malfunction.
On the other hand, sometimes that's not such a wise idea...

I knew there was a way to save all four Mjolnirs and still have a little fun. :nervous: :D
-
Look at that radar! Hehe...

c-1-[find support ship number]-3-c-5. Sends the current support ship packing and calls in another one for you. Of course, that wouldn't work in this situation.

NICE!
Though a handful of support ships could destroy your tiny fighter if they blow up close to you.
Reminds me of a Bridge Commander mission where six cardassian freighters are set to blow the starbase up.
Hmm.. How about having 50 support ships blowing up a rakshasa? :D
