I think I'm getting better at this. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
The sun looks alot better when I used the retouch tool in PSP. The engine glows may look a little weird on the Hesperia. I don't know of any other 'render' that has used subspace warp & node. This is one of the first peeks of the ECJ Hestia of System Madness II.

Looks pretty cool. I like the engine glows. The sun looks good, but the flares are just to many and to big.
It's cool with the node but the warp is way to big and why is it there. There no ship entering or leaving which makes it kinda useless.
But all in all. I like it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

The juggernaut is leaving. And no, it's not too big because it fits the juggernaut.
-
Ahh....Now i get it. Just a question did you add that warp in PSP?

Looks cool (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) The sun could be toned down a little though.

I like. Can't really see all that much because the lens flare sucks, but everything else is kickass (as far as I can tell). What juggernaut is that?
-
Try the Photoshop lens flares. they get in the way less.

Yes.

Ooooooohhh...[stupid look]

Hmmm... That looks really odd. The node shouldn't be visible unless you're viewing it through a HUD (it's a computer-generated marker). And that sun flare is just blekh.

Without the node, you guys would be missing the point of the reason why the juggernaut is jumping out, therefore, no reason to have a warp effect at all (unless it is a chicken and is running away from the Hesperia).
I can decrease the density and the length of those sun beams. Just going through making a good render step-by-step. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

bargh the (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) smilie looks like you are agreeing, I don't like that

Yes!
Why I asked this is why the alignment looks a little bit weird. It doesn't look like the juggernaut should jump out.
But I like the pic. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Anyway, I disagree with your reasoning for the node being there. If a destroyer class is jumping out somewhere, it comes as natural to anyone who's played FS that there will be a node there - and Shrike is right, the node diagram is typically assumed as being generated by the HUD. Think of when the Bastion was jumping out to destroy the node - no diagram hanging in the middle of space. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
But otherwise, nice render. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

the diagram is a hude object! nod a space object!

I see subspace but I don't see a node. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

But for this render, there'd be no point for having a juggernaut jump out in the first place then unless, like I said above, if the juggernaut was chicken. But the day a juggernaut is afraid of a destroyer is the day FS3 comes out (which is the same day hell freezes over and a bunch of other mystical events happen). how did I know some other renderer would show off some of his work in this thread???

Go figure!
Hmm someone go do a render with an effect you can't do in Spire or 3DS Max (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Um... that's impossible... no one but the porterhouse knows what Spire can do...
but try rendering with a buttload of lights to make damage effects, like I did... TS was frozen for like 20 minutes... on lights alone!

And if there is stuff that it can't do, I'll figure it out soon enough and build it in. Additive layers, terrain, height fields (which you can build/generate a surprising amount of stuff with), object-outputting scene-based rendering, I'm beginning to sound like I'm trying to sell the damn thing. I wouldn't have to if you all checked the Arrayâ„¢ often. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

You're another one of them unlucky peeps that can't see fortunecity hosted files. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
I dunno why some people can see them and why some can't.
