...and since this is too futuristic for TVWP, I think I can put it here.
(Inspired by some concept art that I don't remember where I found...)
-
For now looks very good:yes:
What is this: cruiser corvette destroyer
:doubt:
-
I'm thinking 'Heavy Cruiser' with a fighterbay... I may change it, though.
-
And for people who don't like hidden line views...
An oversmoothed version with TS's help popup. :p

with fighterbay..this must be very large cruiser:D
I like the desing. This ship will be Mentu succesor:nod:
-
use auto-facest. I think I know a certan campain that may be able to use this...
-
That's a 45 degree smoothing, but I'll use the facetting, and show it... (Or better yet, less smoothing)
-
Ok, 32 degree smoothing. Showing top and bottom. (If anyone calls the bottom phallic, I'll trout them so hard they won't know what hit them.)
-
could use some dencer geometry, at the least the front of the central hump in the upper left hand picture should have at least one more division length wise. (perhapse a second fighter bay entrence would work here)
try to give the section above the fighter bay that concave vasudan ship nose job (look at the sobek and thoth)
the botom doesn't look very phalic but I'm not sure that sort of structure fits with vasudan design.
haveing some bits sticking out of the engine sections might look good, and maybe try to do some of the FS1 style vasudan engines, you know with like the 'rudders' and stuff sticking through the glowsthrough
-
Which hump do you mean in the first comment?
Concave is easy, as is adding divisions. I'll get on that soon.
Which part of the bottom doesn't fit? The bevelled inward area with the cannon, or the two struts curved below the bubble? Or the bubble itself...
About the engines...I wanted to... but I haven't really grasped that yet. I'll keep trying.
-
I like.
Looks like it could make a good fighter even, but i'd say something a bit bigger than a cruiser. I'm not a fan of the heavy cannons so much, but the overall design rocks.
-
This looks like it'd look good with either Aten or Mentu style textures.
What about two fighterbays? Make it sort of a fast attack carrier with an AAA beam or two and fighterbays? Plus the heavy cannons as a medium-strength forward anti-cap ship attack.
-
I'd have to figure out where to put the second fighterbay... I'll see. I made some changes, and put a rudder on it, like Bobbaou said. I may remove it though.
-
you could put the second bay on the front of that hump I mentioned the long thing on the top the front of witch has the longest/thinnest polys on the model (BTW long thin polys == bad lighting)
-
I cut those already. So there's slightly more polies on it.
Now what you're saying is, where those two cut-ins are, I should put the second fighterbay?
-
maybe this will help explain what I've been talking about
the rudered engines are something I'd sugest experementaly, few have managed to make it work like V did
you know now that I think about it the back end is a little tired, maybe some sort of wrap around thingy to make it look a little busier
-
Oh. Ok. So that's half done. I already curved in the nose slightly, I guess I could put the second fighterbay up there...
I'm wonderring if I should keep the two openings, or be rid of them completely...
-
I suggest this be GTVA cause though it is Vasudan it's teh kind of design even a Terran would say SWEET!
This getting textured soon?
-
those long thin cut outs?
get rid of the cut outs, but try to keep the little mechanical dealies
but long thin triangles are bad, generaly the further from equilateral a triangle gets the worse it looks, though exeptions can be made for relitively flat mechanical geometry (Bobboaus general rule of modeling #5462)
the more I look at it the more I think it could use some wrap around wing thingys (like the Vanir has, though not as far out as the Vanir has), I'll try to make further alterations to show what I mean
-
Right.
I made a version that has the thing triancular cut-outs, which I'll show soon (tomorow?), but I'll make a version without them too, to see which is better.
And since I know almost nothing about the Vanir (Is that a sol ship?) I'll await your image.
-
yeah hear.
also thought a second set of engines might work out well
-
I think you should definitly keep the generally curving aft of the ship - giving new engines like that would just make it another trianlge ship, which ain't too bad but not as unique as the original shape.
-
well it needs something there, maybe a few scalips
-
It's an excellent model. :yes:Perhaps It looks a little too utalitarian to be purely vasudan, but certainly a good Terran/Vasudan hybrid I reckon.
-
that's the Microcosm interceptor submarine!
