i'll err... just check how this turns out, because i'm quite indecisive as to what to do next right now :doubt:

I say FS2 Caps. Currently they have semi-ugly tiled textures (that somehow manage to look good ingame) that are low-res, and the majority of FS1 don't need that much upgrading anyway.

Meh, there is a lot of work too be done on FS2 caps, but I think the FS1 caps deserve it a lot more.

fs2 caps, but in my mind this includes all the cap ships which make an appearance in FS2, and not only those native to FS2, so it includes the Orion and Fenris/Levyathan.

FS2 caps, because although the FS1 Caps need it, the FS2 ones need it so much more! ;)

Actually, they all need it, because technically you won't be able to play with anything that isnt properly env mapped. (env will be maximum intensity everywhere - ugh)

I voted FS1 fighters/bombers, since these get overlooked so often.  If you do chose FS1 cap-ships however, I'd advise you consider making the Fenris maps for the hi-poly version as well.  Also, I'd ask that you support the Leviathan skin from the Port, with the blue dot in place of the red one.

Make some more planets

;)

EDIT - don;t do FS1 fighters, etc - because they have by far the best mapping - plus the biggest maps.

so what? they still need alpha env maps to work properly, PLUS having the best mapping /biggest maps will accelerate the progress quite a lot.

-edit: 'bout the planets: I'm working on something different atm, something that DG asked for quite a while ago. Still haven't got the effect to work as I wanted it to.

Yeah, but FS1 ships aren;t going to be used that much in most campaigns.  Unless you're specifically thinking of the TVWP, in which case I guess it makes sense.

Till TVWP uses ANY of the FS1 fighters there's still a lot of time to go. And as we're working on chapter One anyway, this doesn't matter at all. :)

But it would be favourable for those playing the Port.

Which is why I have no moderator abilities. :p

But I can't decide... :(

The FS2 capships need it the most, but the FS1 ships look the coolest...

I'm soo torn. I want a higher detail Valkyrie, and Athena... but I want to see the Vasudan ships looking better. Woe is me.

Keep in mind that - hopefully - they'll all get done eventually. FS2 capships see the most action outside of FS2 fighters - ergo they should be done next (and god knows they need it).

My thoughts exactly. Go for the ones that see the most use for now and move onto the rest afterwards. :)

Dont bother redoing the fs2 capship textures, redo the mapping and get rid of the tiles.

Remember I can't model, so unless someone wants to fix the screwy tiling mapping for me I can't do anything 'bout that.

He needs a modder or it will literally half you Frame Rates believe me I have a Radeon 9600 series and it still does it...

Map and texture all these $^*#% Star Lancer ships I converted to lwo or Cobs...! (useless game) punts SL cd to the dumpster, never did get it to work , good thing I only paid .99C for it!
