Ok, I'm willing to bet that some of you have played Engages version of the first Descent game (called Descent Online). Remember the Tigg? Well, a while back I took the liberty of modelling it. It didn't look all that great, but all I had modelling experience with at the time was spheres. Needless to say that not only was the polygon count un-necessarily high, but it didn't look all that great either. So, for the past couple of days, I've been re-vamping the model. I redid the main body, fixed some silly errors, and made the sucker look much better all-around...but I'll let you be the judge of that. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Nice! Could be a bit more rounded around the main body, but apart from that it looks much better (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

You wouldn't happen to have a 3ds version of that would you?

I agree.
I was fixing to say that the previous model looked better because of that. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I should borrow that from my friend. He kept on telling me that it made him have motion sickness.

My computer can run it fast enough (barely).

I've gotten lost...
at one point i couldnt tell which way was up(not that it matters much)...
and then I managed to light myself on fire with a napalm rocket...
that was fun...
and I'm rambling.. so I'll stop...

My computer still has trouble running it, which is somewhat annoying considering it'll run the vastly more advanced IW2 without much trouble.
As for motion sickness - pah! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

You must be jocking. The Iwar2 engine has nowhere like the huge amount of stuff to run than the descent3 engine has to (not sure what I just said is very correct, grammar speaking.

The I-War2 engine is just really refined, optomized, and boosted by the very latest in technology.
Descent 3 had a truly unique dual engine that worked for wide open spaces as well as the closed tunnels. That was something special.
-
Agreed. If Interpunks had given them more time, alot of the bugs would've been worked out.
