Overclocked Remixes (http://www.ocremix.org/)

It's a pretty interesting site. It contains many remixes for both old and new game titles.  From various game platforms. :)

This is the best source for game music, if you're looking for some good Amiga Classics (like Turrican, mmmhhhh):

UnExoticA (http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotica/titles/a.html)

You'll need Deliplayer to play most of those files, though.

Funny because both of those games were two of my favourite Amiga games too.

Turrican 2 and Shadow of the Beast 2 were also great, Shadow of the Beast 3 was okay, and Turrican 3 disappointed me :doubt:

Other things I can reccommend: Ambermoon, Agony and Rock'n'Roll have some cool tracks as well :)

Deliplayer Website (http://www.deliplayer.com/)

The developer's a traitor, but the tool is good nonetheless.

You never played Beast 2? Damn man, get WinUAE and get emulating, easily one of the best platform/puzzle games of all time and certainly the series highlight.

My favourite Turrican theme would probably be "Concerto for lasers and enemies" I still play the game just to hear it.

I've discovered that place awhile ago and now it's pretty much the only way I download music (big video game music fan ;)). This is one of my recent favourites. (http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00465) :) There's some really good stuff there.

I'm rather scared of installing UAE. I'm an enormous Amiga fan. I stuck with it until mine finally died and it wasn't worth buying a new one when a PC was the same cost. If I install UAE I might as resign from the MG team cause I wouldn't have any time for it :D

I wouldn't just be playing the A500 classics either. I still have a drawer with some of the PPC-era amiga games like Napalm, Wasted Dreams and Genetic Species that are just begging me to play them again (especially Wasted Dreams)..

Damn nice tune that one. I must have completed Turrican 4 or 5 times already cause that game was one of the best of it's type ever. I love the way they just threw in a left-right scrolling shooter for a few levels :)

Oh dear. I just found the menace theme on UnExotica. I'm going to seriously annoy everyone else in the house playing the in-game music from that all day :D

Only problem if I keep expecting to hear the music fade away and hear Danger! Danger! Danger! when the end of level boss appears :D

Hehe I still have my precioussss Amiga 1200 right left to me here :)

I just wish I had a lot of money so I could stick the whole thing into a tower and give it some serious PPC power - muahahaha :D

*sighs*. Ah well, at least I got OS 3.9 now. Only have to find time for installing it, as it comes on a CD (and I only have floppy drives - bleh) and i'll have to transfer all the data through my direct connection, at 28k. Sucks.

You should definately get round to installing UAE.

I did :) Had a PPC card and a BVision. But after a while I started getting problem after problem with it and then it finally gave up the ghost.  I still have a second A1200 and an A500 in their boxes under the bed. I occasionally pull out the A500 for a game of Menace :D

I am so tempted :) I've not been keeping track of the Amiga Scene much beyond reading Sabrina Online but back in the day I used to be a huge Amiga fan. I still regard AmigaOS as the best OS I ever worked with. Like I said though the problem is that I don't have an enormous amount of free time and if I did install it you probably wouldn't see me for a couple of months (although some might say that's a good thing :D ).

I think I'll wait until I've actually finished SoR or the MG demo so at least I've got something done and install it as a present to myself :)

That's unfair (the PPC issue)

OS3.9 has some pretty cool additions, though, i've heard it's a b*tch to install. :)

I just wish I could afford an Amiga 4000, that would solve all my problems. I could finally expand the damn thingy (i.e. put in a decent networking card and hook it up to the LAN, put in some good graphics card and a nice PPC board). But no, i'm NOT going to pay 200+ € for this (primarily because I can't afford it) :(

-edit:

Must-check-out linkies :D

Back2Roots.org (http://www.back2roots.org/) - probably the biggest archive of (now) free Amiga Games.

Factor5 website (http://www.factor5.com/inside.shtml) - The official Factor5 homepage hosting the Turrican Trilogy for download :D

Yeah. Owning an A4000 (T) was always one of my biggest Amiga dreams :) Although I've heard that the AmigaOne is coming soon (if it isn't here already).

I'm already aware of Back to the Roots. It threatens to draw me in all the time. :)

http://www.amigaremix.com/ - Some nice remixes there too BTW :)

AmigaOne is already available (with G5 processors too... hmmmm :D ) - but that's not a 'real real' Amiga anymore IMHO.

Heck, they wont even run AmigaOS 'cause they've got no 68k based processor, so you'll have to run Linux on em, or emulate an AmigaOS (sucks).

So, the AmigaOne users will have to wait for OS4.0. Why? Because Os4.0 will be (prepare yourself) COMPLETELY platform independent.

Yes, you've heard right :)

Based on the core from Tao IIRC :D If I also remember correctly you can run OS4.0 either as a fully independant OS or once you have the right drivers you could even run it as an abstraction layer in windows :)

That would definately draw me back into the community :D

I'd agree with you but there were some games (Like Where Time Stood Still) that were simply better on the speccy (if they even came out at all on the C64)  :D

Well, I only rarely need Vice these days. Only to play a bit Archon II (have the Amiga version as well, but the C64 one is a lot more fast paced), maybe some Katakis (same here).

Else than that, I rarely play any C64 anymore. Though there ARE some pretty cool ones. (Antiriad.... Hmmmmmmmmm :D )

MY favourite game of all time is still Ranarama on the spectrum so I can't completely abandon it :)

Funny thing is that there a few sites that are taking classic games and porting them over to the PC. I quite enjoyed playing Head Over Heels (http://retrospec.sgn.net/index.php) again. Kinda missed the speccy music though (not to mention the ability to cheat and get Head And Heels together in the first room :D
