to infinity - and beyond!
good stuff, look forward to the space cruises then.

They're gonna do it! Hooray!
I've been following those guys ever since Popular Science did a story on the X-prize a while back...
-
Meh, make it cheap enough to be usefull, then we'll see.
And make it use less fuel, it's a pure waste of energy, as far as I care. Same goes for the ISS. Sure, it's cool for science, but it's too expensive to do anything usefull, and the energy costs are through the roof.
-
I'll assume that you can back that up with figures, so I'll just remind you that the X-Prize winner is a technology demonstrator, not a production model
-
im sure costs will come down over time, as more enter the market, and better tech is made use of for the job.
-
What I notice is that they keep talking about that one, but what about the 24 others?
-
The 24 others aren't on the verge of winning the prize.
-
plus most are either way behind or just deaming.
-
If I had the money I'd go to space... awww yeah, go rutan.
-
Most of the other entrants are still on the drawing board. Kazan made a big fuss about one of the teams, but their website had nothing more substantial than artists' concepts. Burt is sending his entry into space this month. So you can see why he's the media darling :)
-
If I made it into the news, dg, will you call me "darling" too? :D
-
There's a Canadian team that is in a close second. Not sure on what their current status was but it was looking very strong.
