Just saw it tonight.
It was interesting. I'd say the New York Times review of it was very accurate. It was very, very dark. Very moody. A much different atmosphere from the first too. The cinematography was different. Everything felt different.
Daniel Radcliffe was okay, but not so great. Emma Watson was pretty good. Everyone cheered when she punched Malfoy and I was about to kill someone when that happened...because just like...AHHH! People I knew, too. Some of my friends even came a little dressed up...one girl painted a scar on her forehead. Two older girls had broomsticks and wands.
Blackmail pictures... ;7
Anyway, I'd say...well...see it if you'd like. But it's not so special...you want special, go see Day After Tomorrow and watch LA get destroyed by tornadoes because not much seems to actually happen in this movie.
-
yeah someone dressed up as Gandalf ;)
And this one girl was like 80 pounds overweight, and she came dressed as that girl (the one that punches the blonde guy in the face in the movie) and i couldn't believe it. i mean, she should've dressed up as that fat teacher guy (Hogwart?). damn, people these days.
anyway, it wasn't a bad movie. it was almost exactly how i expected it to be ;)

Worth seeing? The news over here was filled with news about the growing-up of Daniel Radcliffe, so the movie itself managed to slip under the radar. :p
-
I'll see it when I've got the time (ie I'll probably be forced to rent the friggin' DVD at the rate things are going).
-
Steak, you might as well see it. It was halfway decent...a little "artsy" though...
-
Heh, girl I know from school seriously wants to rape that Daniel guy... and all the other girls want to make out with the kid.
Talk about child mollestation.
It's really starting to piss me off.
I'll be seeing it soon though, just because I like the HP books.
-
Not just Daniel...a bunch of the girls at my school want the kid who plays Malfoy as well.
-
You could see the change of producer, and not to the good side.
They strayed too much from the book IMHO, and seriously simply messed up some scenes. Meh, some things even don't make any sense at all if you'd know only the movie.
Ah well, it's still not *that* bad. Go and see it, if you like, but dont expect anything too convincing.
-
And if I gave a damn about HP and wasn't so dissappointed in the first movie, I'd even go see it. Perhaps.
-
I went to see this yesterday. It was a decent film - better than Troy, for sure. I enjoyed Van Helsing more though.
-
Better than Troy, eh? On what level? I think I'm going to have to see it now, since I have a movie ticket to spend. :)
-
Better than Troy.
-
ummm i think the werewolf in Van Helsing couldn't touch the HP werewolf. the HP werewolf was actually scary. can you imaging walking in the woods at night and coming across that? damn.
-
Well...just came back from seeing it...again...(saw it opening night and tonight)
All in all, I think it's alot...ALOT better then the other movies. And...in some points sticks with the book better...although they did fudge up a few scenes.
Also, this is NOT a kids movie...damn parents bringing their kids to a movie that in some places would've scared them crapless! About 10 people walked out of the theatre because of that!...but it was a good kind of scary...
Compared to the book...they did alright. AND this director didn't fudge up the Womping Willow...like in the 2nd movie...Columbus sucks as a director...Alfonso did the job...and did it right.
**** out of ***** stars.
I would've given it 5 stars if the quidditch part was longer...
-
quidditch? what part was that?
-
flying on broomsticks...the part where he falls...
-
Quidditch is unnecessary. I didn't like those sequences in the first two movies because I didn't think it was properly depicted...

Sure appears that way, given your vacant knowledge of the basic fundamentals of either of the movies in the Harry Potter series.
-
yeah, well sorry i didn't meet up to your expectations when it comes to Harry Potter knowledge
-
You better be. Being a retarded noodlebrain is no excuse when you just saw the movie.
