Post by: jdjtcagle on June 10, 2004, 11:13:14 pm
Wow... I made this a LONG time ago, and when cleaning out my C: Drive, I found it...  Only reason I didn't finish it was because I couldn't find it...
I'm definately going to finish this...
What do you think about it??
:)
I haven't looked through this so... there might be typos or something...

Chapter 1
The Distress Call

The pioneers of a warless world are the youth that refuse military service
-Albert Einstein

GTI Jamestown in stationary orbit with a moon nicknamed “Scarlet Iblis” in Ross 128
1-4-2335

The sheer size and shape of a Terran Installation or destroyer shimmering across the background of  stars, they are like a wonderfully beautiful city that would strike fear in any Terran or Vasudan that lay eyes on it, it gave Terrans great pride in there ship building, although the Terrans were not alone, the Vasudan warships are almost equal in firepower and ship building. Each and every capital ship made was like a wonder of the Modern World. The extreme cost to build is, was, and has always been necessary for the safety for the Terran race’s existence against all odds. The Terrans and Vasudans victory were basically in the hands of how many ships they had, until the 8 years into the war.  The Terrans needed a solution to there battles without spending countless money on building warships, just so they could eventually fall. They came up with fighters and bombers that would fit in a carrier, and destroy, disarm, or disable their targets with there space bombs and missiles. Ever since then, outcomes of battles layed in the hands of pilots skills.  Though there was a problem with the carriers, they were easy targets and shot down quickly. When the Orion class destroyer came it was designed to have destroyer capabilities and be a carrier for fighters and bombers.

It was usually a busy day this time of standard Terran year for Anna Polpolion it is called on Earth, but for the Terran Station, Jamestown,  it was blooming with Civilian traffic from Scarlet Iblis, but that all changed with the presence of a Vasudan Admiral Kakra’ Ma, or that’s how it sounded at least, on the loose in the system a couple of months ago after breaking through a node blockade. Now the Jamestown is a fortress for dozens of Fenris and Leviathen cruisers under the command of Admiral Jeffery Blackens of the GTD Bavaria of the 5th Fleet based in the beautiful Beta Aquilia system, giving food supplies, support, and materials from the economic colonies of Ross 128's primary planet’s two moons.

Anna Polpolion was about to finish her shift at the cold communications room, that gave off the odd smell of a mix between ozone and sludge she had just ate coming from the trash can at the side of her feet, she couldn’t wait until she could complete her shift, she could finally enjoy her New Years week with a relaxing sleep and hot bath. As she stared at the big brown planet and it’s two moons, the Scarlet Iblis and Juno. She has always loved the scenery of the planets in her front ward view, but it gets boring after a while, especially she barely ever has to direct traffic and watch for any Unknown appearances on scanners.

“God it’s getting cold in here.” complained the overworked officer and lay her head down on the desk, wishing, no... praying for something to happen.
Her prayer was answered as a person began to speak over voice intercom and a picture of a women with dark black skin showed up on screen. She noticed that she has seen the women before, after pondering for a couple of seconds she noticed it was the Comm Officer on the Bavaria...

“GTI Jamestown...” she paused for acknowledgment

“Go ahead...”acknowledging the women while pressing a button on a panel to secure the subspace transmission.

“We are on Route to Sector 14, 90, 05, just a couple hundred thousand miles ahead of this position, maybe we’ll increase our sensor range from a Nav Bouy there, from there we will be sending cruisers to search the parameter, it’s time to rid these Zugs.  We’ll also be leaving a couple Leviathans to protect the Installation”

“I’m switching your transmission to the bridge, stand bye and god speed...” Polpolion switched more buttons and waited patiently until the Captain spoke to the Destroyer...

“Good to here, go and get the bastards, wherever they are, we getting complaints from various locals and companies, that there not getting enough supplies to there mining colonies on various asteroids.”

“Isn’t that the truth...” Polpolion spoke under her breath, she has had to deal with many angry corporate.

“Agreed, they will be gone from existence soon enough...”  The Admiral spoke that time with a very confident tone. The standard clock on the her watch underneath her khaki uniform showed 5 minutes until relieved. “At last I can sit with some other officers and  have me a drink”, she thought to herself, for she had been looking forward to this, something had to keep sanity from such a boring and old outpost...

Bridge of the Bavaria of the 5th Fleet, Getting ready to jump to Sector 14, 90, 05 in Ross 128
1-4-2334

Admiral Jeffery Blackens stood a short 5 foot, was leaning over the shoulder of one of his crew, and talking to the GTI Jamestown’s captain. Although the Admiral was short, his pride made him tall. The ruthless and barbaric way he commanded his men could make you wish you never served under him, he would send you to your death without even thinking over the logic of the situation. He has been with the Barvaria in the war with the Vasudan’s for 5 years now, ever since the old Admiral died mysteriously after eating one afternoon.

“Agreed, they will be gone from existence soon enough...” the confident and fearless Admiral said to the station’s captain. Then the Admiral closed the conversation with the traditional

“Admiral J. Blackens, out...”  Then stood straight up, put his hands behind his standard GTA khaki Admiral’s Uniform, and looked around the bridge at his crew as they stared back.  The Bridge was a pretty big, barely lit, beautiful view of the starry sky in front of them, and dim room, the life support systems could be seen spewing out air from vents, the GTA Green flags were in the corners of the bridge, it housed everyone from the person who sweeps the floor and the people distributing the Admiral’s orders to other sections of the ship, all working and preparing to jump to subspace.  He looked over at the Vice Admiral and saw the strange look she was giving him.

“What...?”

“Oh... I was just wonder how I was going to explain to your wife, at the next Christmas dinner, how this year you have killed thousands of pilots under your command and have nothing but medals.” Vice Admiral Kira explained.  The Admiral stood stumped for a second, gave a slight smile and responded

“ Well firstly, I’m like you, cold hearted and don’t give a damn about those pilots. Secondly, I never knew they had pills for sanity until a couple of years ago...”She gave a small laugh and he continued... “Thirdly, I do whatever I can to kill these soulless bastards...”  He then looked over his shoulder at the same guy he once stood over.

“Biggs, Are they ready??”

“Yes sir, they are ready and await your command.”  The crewman acknowledge

“Ok, engage subspace drive.”  The Admiral firmly commanded, and almost immediately the “city in the sky” started to shake a bit as it’s fusion engines and subspace drive warmed up, shot them at extreme speeds of 212 meters per second. A massive beautiful swirl of blue and white shockwave through the blackness of space, the entire crew including the Admiral stared in amazement as one of the most strangest and most natural phenomenon humanity has ever known swallowed the ship. A couple of minutes later they were a couple thousand kilometers of the Jamestown.

“Bring it on Zugs” he spoke softly to himself staring into the bright stars, it has always been a six sense, but he could certainly sense death...

Sorry, I've been sleeping :)
Looks very interesting, however you may wanna fix some of the grammar errors. A good read, all in all, though.

Formatting tip: seperate paragraphs with a single line.  It helps make long posts more readable.

Looks good for the most part, but the first couple of paragraphs seem kind of disjointed.
