Wow, those look sweet..
Except you forgot to put the engine glow on the top left engine of that fighter (Starfury?) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

it's obscured.. and that's a good thing otherwise that one would wash out the entire screen because of it's proximity to the camera (they're on Squared Falloff)

Couldn't you make it look destroyed? Well, they are overally(sp?) nice pics, but the shadows in the second pic look a little peculiar.

The Starfury engine glows are as un-B5 as they come. And, of course, Starfuries rarely have all engines on unless in battle (why should it? nothing to slow you down there).
The rest are cool enough. The backgrounds are very nice and the sun looks more realistic than in most renders.

Kazan, the engine should glow even if it's obscured. The way you simulated engine glows was by having lens flares, right? Well, that's not what an engine glow is caused by.
Lens flares are the effects that occur in photos because of a bright light sourcee being directly visible.
Engine glows seem to be more like a constant cloud or haze of gas behind the engine, that is lit up by the light from the engine. So you don't need to have a direct LOS to see the glow.

i'm aware of that.. i don't know how to do good engine glows

Nice. The Orion and Hecate look awful smooth, though. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
moderate shininess and antialiasing

We know what it is, and Setekhs right - drop it a bit, especially on the Orion (see those grey patches? they look poor).
Apart from that, W0rd!
