Title: Why no FREDder forum?
Post by: ZylonBane on December 11, 2001, 06:13:00 pm
Seems like the only thing missing from HLP is a forum for us FREDders. Yeah, the FRED2 forum at the VBB is still intact, but... for how long?   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/nervous.gif)

I dunno.... it's never been something that we get enough traffic from, I suppose.  All that stuff tends to get posted in FS modding, anyhow.

Isnt that what the Freespace Modding forum is for?

slightly off topic: if you debug a mission for me, you..win a prize  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

A mission is not a mod. Look at the Modding forum... not a single FRED question on the first page.

People do ask FRED questions in there tho...
That was just my reasoning behind it...

Yeah. In the beginning, we knew we were going to have a big emphasis on modding. But I guess ... it is probably the same reason we don't have a mission archive, either.

Well, I guess I'll keep a light on over at the VBB FRED2 forum then. Hopefully V/THQ won't order it shut down.

I hope not that THQ shut the FRED2 forum. Right now the FRED2 and Volition sections at the VBB are the only ones that are really worth to read.

Well, if it does, you can trust that we'll open up a haven for you Fredders to hang out.

But, as it is, I think the Volition FRED2 forum seems to be holding up. So this place can do without one  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif) But if things start deteriorating... you know, just whistle, and we'll sort something out.

Besides - the modding forum probably falls under that heading... at least loosely...

Actually, that's something that I appreciated about the VBB - their FRED forum. Filtering out all the "How do I fir beams?" topics left quite a few nice informational topic.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
