I have some questions I need awnsered for my campaign.
1. Are there any Orion destroyers left? If so, what are some of their names. (post-cappella)
2. What is the name of the deimos corvette on the mission where you escort the paracombe and jooyun to the collossus?
3. What are the names of some shivan destroyers?
4. What is the name of the deimos corvette in the last mission?
-
1: Yeah there are a lot of them. The Hecate is new enough that the majority should still be Orions, at least just after the campaign ends.
2: Parapet
3: hmm...Ravana, Nebiros, Beleth, Beast, Barqu, Chemosh. I think those are the only official ones.
4: Lemnos
I've been playing FS2 for too long; I know these things off the top of my head now. :D

Thanks (:

Orions? Like CP said, plenty of them. The Messana and Carthage are the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head, but there are bound to be more of them.

This (http://www.brainzipper.com/old/fs2/notes/fs2_ship_list.html) answers pretty much all of those questions.
For some reason I've never remembered to add it to the FAQ but I've added a link to my folder of stuff to add links now so it will be in the next upgrade :)
-
Use mine instead. It's got more ships. :D
*is sounding like a broken record about this*
-
Link?
I actually do use it but I don't have the link any more.

I need to make this into an html. The rtf is a bit messy.

WOW!!! thanks! I wanted these because I don't wan't to just make up random names for my ships in my campaing. This way it will umm... go together better with the official campaign. Thanks again!

Random names = the win.
After all, where do you think we would be without the Custodian, Spinnaker, or Methodus? :D
-
You should have a mix of new and old names prefereably. :)

Better idea: that needs to be included to FS wiki.
I could do it, the rtf file is very easy to convert to for wiki. If i may?

Go ahead. I would have done it long ago but couldn't find any way to do it effectively aside from copying and pasting each entry. Word was able to sort of do it but the html files it generated were huge.
For making new names, the best thing is to get hold of a few big lists of mythological terms and pick anything that sounds cool. There was a big site on this stuff that people used to link to some years ago, but I don't remember it now. I still have the lists of gods and stuff that I copied from that place though.
-
Encyclopedia Mythica (http://www.pantheon.org/) is probably what you're thinking of.
Be warned that a trip there can involve you spending hours reading the entries and still emerging without a name you find suitable now that you know what they mean :)

Thats what I plan to do. I just want it to seem more, entwined, with the offical FS2 campaign because it makes the story more beliveable.
-
Just make sure you take into account what happened to the ships in the main campaign. Don't have a dead ship make an appearance.

You could name the ships after forumites :D
