Title: i cant make Freespace 2 install the RIGHT WAY!
Post by: ZmaN on November 13, 2005, 09:00:27 pm
its really wierd, ive done it three times and no problems, but I cant get freespace 2 to install correctly.  I tried a cd and mounting in Daemon Tools.  It prepares the installshield, and then just sits there.  It usually take about 2-5 minuets (i know by experience) for the program to execute completly, but I waited 5 minuets and nothing is happening...  ideas?

I have a backup of the installed folder so thats what im copying in place of that..

is it from an iso? if so, thats what happened to me! what i did to get mine working was: i mounted it on a cd (thats when it didn't work) so what i did was i copied the stuff on the cd to my hard drive (copy and paste). now it worked.
then i copied  and pasted it back onto a NEW cd. then it worked.NO i don't know why that happened/works. hope i helped!

wait!  Im not completely understanding what you did.  You mounted the CD using daemon tools and then copied them to a folder and THEN installed it?

What I did with the first one (the one that didn't work for me): Burned image to CD using Nero. Then Copied and pasted to my hard drive. Tried it again, and it worked. Copied and pasted to a new CD.

For the other two: Mounted to a virtual CD drive with Nero. Copied and pasted to my hard drive. Copied and pasted to a CD.
