i did some planetary surfaces in different light conditions.

Are those for FS?
If they are how do you do them? (I need planets for part of my MOD...)
-
those are a bit plain, don't you think?
and no those couldn't be for FS2 because they are way way to high in polygons. funny how now everyone thinks they can Mod (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)
-
So do you, Carl, so (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)
I think I am the only one on HLP who is aware that they can't mod, and actually can't but that is a technical issue and nothing to do w/ skill (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Schoveet terrains. What'd you do 'em in?
-
I won't bring out my terrains, you'll all just shout at me (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif) Nice job, KMN. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
That was a bit uncalled for, wasn't it?

umm...i have. several times (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) *thinks of pimping but decides against it*
-
Whether you really can or not is generally unrelated to whether you THINK you can. Thus, the noobs.
-
Play nice.
-
not being mean to anyone. just stating a fact. i never said i was talking about him anyway. i'm frustrated at the moment. (Ineva keeps knocking me off)
-
the polycount may not be that high... I can make landscapes like this one using multiple (4 maybe?)800 polys submodels, that can make a pretty descent landscape ingame.

An early alpha version of FreeSpace 1 HAD planetary surfaces...

Surely you'd have to repeat place them a lot to make it convincing, though..... unless you suse the good old trick of having invisible walls at the ends of the landscape.. and a bitmapped plane for background detail.
-
yay KMN you are getting good.... Lightwave again?? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

nope. Just make 4 60 km wide planes. As command will destroy you when you reach one side of the battlefield (60 km wide), you'll still have 30 kms away so the landscape does seem like it has been cut by the hand of god (my hand in this case (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) )

3ds max 3 that time
-
get Brice. it is landscape 133+!
-
Somone had posted a thread on the VBB saying they were going to make somthing like this so surface missions could be possible.
Can't remember who it was now.
