It didn't manage to make IGN's top 100 though.
Interestingly enough, the best PC game of all time is apparently Civilization II.
-
Wha?! No C&C95 on that list?!? Well, I guess they had everything else I wanted at least..
-
I'd have to say Far Cry.. Best graphics, and Very good AI (not as good as FEAR..)
-
...And a host of negatives to go along with all the positives. 'Best of all time' refers to titles that have truly made a mark on the gaming scene, meaning a game that was truly, orgasmically awesome, or a game that changed the direction of all titles afterwards. Far Cry, while a bloody good game, is not worthy of a 'best of all time' title...
I'm disappointed Tiberium Dawn didn't make the list, but most of the games I thought truly exceptional were there anyway, ie. Ocarina of Time...
-
StarCraft, for example, truly deserves the title.
-
Shenmue
Tekken 3
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past
Mario Kart
I can't claim they're the best of all time as I've not got around to playing every game in existence but I have severely fond memories of the aforementioned titles. :)

Good to see Thief and SS2 in there. But where are Deus Ex, C&C, Lemmings and maybe most importantly Doom? These are really glaring omissions as far I am concerned. And how did Wipeout XL make it in there? It was a pretty decent game, but hardly what I would call "greatest of all time." The newer Rollcage and Ballistics were far better games of a similar style.
-
Didn't Wolfenstein 3D change the direction of games as the early FPS it is? It wasn't that great though.. *shrugs*

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is one the best I've ever played. This series rocks, and this one is by far the best.
-
I prefer Super Castlevania, mainly for nostalga. And that boss sequence before Dracula. That was cool.
I'm surprised Freespace made it onto the list tho.
-
Halo 2! Better than awesome cinematics (god i love the xbox), dual-weilding weapons, beating the living **** out of the enemies and hijacking their vehicles... :D (Although the levels tend to be drug out too much in that game :nervous: )
Oh, and Dragonball Z Budokai: Tenkaichi, with its fully 3D worlds, fully 3D fights, fully destructable environments, you know the whole story. ;)

I remember the SNES DBZ gams with their split screens. That was good. Probably **** now like
