Now that I've fixed the sound and techroom problems, I have run into yet another.
What happened to the textures on the Herc Mk. II and the Iceni? I'm sure there are more invisible textures on other recently-textured ships, but this is VERY annoying! For some reason some of the textures aren't invisible on those ships, making it look like a hollow skeleton.
HELP!!!
Scratch that. Look below.

In the launcher turn on -jpgtga

It shouldn't be possible for the Herc II or the Iceni to be broken by TGA files alone, as neither has been upgraded to HTL yet. Both would be the stock models, using the stock textures, which should be there as (at worst) a fallback if the textures in the media VPs can't load for whatever reason. A valid question may be what graphics card he is using, as this doesn't actually sound like a media problem.

Oh, i missed the II, and iceni...
No idea then...

I have 512 mb of ram and an Sapphire Radeon 9600XT oem 128mb of vram.
It looks fine before-mission in the techroom, but after I play a mission, it goes all weird.

Ok, so what are your command line options?

The problem seems to have gone away, but there is a problem now that makes the game COMPLETELY unplayable.
Whenever a beam is fired, the game slows down from 30+ fps, all the way tooo... about 1.5 fps. When multiple beams are firing, the game turns into a slideshow.
My Cline options are as follows:
-glow -jpgtga -mipmap -nomotiondebris -2d_poof -no_vsync -targetinfo -orbradar -ship_choice_3d -3dwarp -warp_flash
I would have -spec if it worked. Spec mapping works in OpenGL, but everything else doesn't.

Extract this to your mediaVP directory and see if it fixes the slowdowns.

YES!
It works like a dream!
Even though the beam effects aren't as flashy, it is still much better. Besides, I don't like the new high-res beam effects. It seemed like there were three beams coming out instead of one.
-
That's becasue the tables in the media vp's arent compatible with the beam textures in the media vp's...

i think it looked pretty cool. :)

Get my attatchment here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,36983.0.html) if it actualy works
