Reskin of the standard Terran pilot/cockpit model, adaptable to any and every current HTL fighter with a visible pilot. Here seen in Bobboau's HTL Hercules. Use it for future HTL Vasudan fighters, or with the texture-replace SEXP to have Vasudan wingmen in mission.
Save THIS (http://web.njit.edu/~pjo3/htl/vcock.pcx) and THIS (http://web.njit.edu/~pjo3/htl/vcock-glow.pcx) wherever you like and start using 'em!

wow
-
Okay. But if I get funny looks from people for having a file called vCock on my computer I'm blaming you. :D
Seriously though this could prove pretty useful for anyone doing a mission with a reverse officer exchange in it :)
-
I like it, but I think the model needs changing if you're gonna be doing Vasudans. On the bright side, now we can put people in high poly Vasudan fighters! Yay
-
It looks like somebody kicked the Vasudan in the face. :nervous:
I doubt it'll be very noticeable in-game though.
-
yeah, vasudans face needs to be pulled out...
-
Arg, What the ****. It doesn't look like to vasudans, Sacrilege !! xD
-
It's a good start but like other said face of Vasudan pilot need some work.
-
Vasuden = smaller head, broader shoulders, slim arms
-
Again, I'll be the voice of dissent.
I don't like it. Too Terran. Changing things brown doesn't make it Vasudan...
-
It's better than nothing for now.
-
I believe the phrase I'm looking for is "OH MY GOD THAT'S FUGLY!"
-
It's better than nothing for now.
Actually, i'd much prefer to use nothing, than to use a remapped terran in a vasudan ship. :/
-
Well, it's not like the current model looks particularly human either... :doubt: At least with this (so far) it's just swappable so instead of having horribly deformed Terrans flying Vasudan ships, we have horribly deformed Vasudans.
-
More importantly, this gives us a map. Now someone just needs to tweak the pilot mesh to make it more proportional to a Vasudan. I should note that they would never be truely compatible; a Vasudan is much taller than a Terran, and there are certain ships (*cough* Pegasus *cough*) that a Vasudan simply could not fit into. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how one fits into an Anubis.

Quite frankly, I'm not sure how one fits into an Anubis.
Laying down, perhaps?
-
Didn't the anubis have two cocpits? So there are two vasudans in there. And not much else...
-
^What are you talking about?
-
IMO the vasudan cockpit for the Anubis was too small when they made it.
i'm not sure i like the vasudan cockpit, either. it's a good start, though. :)
-
The Anubis did appear to have two cockpits, one upper and one lower.
-
I'm preety sure one of those would just be a sensor dome...
-
There's actually pretty good precident for stacked dual cockpits on Vasudan ships. A number of FS2 ships have them in a similar configuration.
-
Considering how crappy the Anubis was, I wouldn't be too surprised if it did have a separate cockpit, for a sensor operator, so it'd be better equipped to act as a forward scout.
Why spend millions developing sophisticated electronics when you can use a cheap conscript?
However that all depends if there's actually any space for one or two Vasudans in the ship.
-
Or a backup pilot, in case a lucky shot shredded its nonexistant armor and knocked off the actual pilot. A vasudan is what, 3 meters tall at most? The lower pod is 1.8 meters tall and "transparent" (black) all around; presumably the pilot could sit (barely) in that space. Or he could be lying down. The upper pod is over 2.5 meters tall, more than big enough to accomodate the largest Vasudan pilot. There's not much room for anything else, granted, but it is an anubis, after all.
-
Leave it to the vasudans, not only to desing a ****ty throwaway fighter, but to waste two pilots on it too.
-
There's nothing saying that both pilots are needed to fly the ship though. Even more important if the ship has no armor, the pilot could be in either cockpit so being able to just shoot at the pilot rather than the ship wouldn't be an option.
