Title: Cannot play any campangs (FS2open)

Im using FS2 open, and i cannot play ANY campanges, i always get this "stack debug error" and i have to quit.

Im not sure if its an install error or not, and whenever i try to play normal FS2, whenever i start the exe i get another Stack debug error.  And i cant copy/paste the error (although it says i can).


How do i stop this!?

I'll bite.

Did you read the Wiki?  Back when I started using FSO, I had all my questions awnsered from the Wiki, and everything has worked properly ever since. 
Reading Karajorma's FAQ is also good, as it awnsers questions about different versions of FS2.

This sounds like an FS2_Open error more than korJax doing anything wrong. I'll shunt this over to the SCP forum.

Im not sure (PS:  TPB campangs work fine and the normal FS2 main campange works too), but it doesnt say much, and i cant copy+paste the error, and dont feel like wateing for load times/ect in FS2 on a user made campange to get the error :)

I do know it says "Stack debug error" though...

And i posted this under Freespace Campanges forum orrignally cause its only user made ones that have this problem.  TBP works fine too.  I am wondering if its just a buggy FS2 open install?

There are over 50,000 lines of code in fs2_open...if we knew exactly where the error was and what it said based on 'it doesn't work', chances are, the bug would've been fixed already.

Once the error message appears, you should be able to just open Notepad, then click "Edit->Paste". You don't have to copy the text; FS2 does it for you.

If that doesn't work, take a screenshot when the error is on the screen (Press printscreen...it will automatically copy it to the clipboard). Then open a program that can save to .jpg (Like IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com)), paste the screenshot into the program. Then save it as a JPG and upload it somewhere.

If even that doesn't work, copy it down somewhere. Most error messages have a message at the top, telling what the problem is. Then below that, they have a whole bunch of letters and numbers and crap that doesn't really give any info. Copy down the stuff that's in english and post it here.

If you aren't willing to spend 30 minutes to load whatever is causing the error so you can give us a decent description of the problem, don't expect it to get fixed.

i don't think it's just FSO, i got this problem in FS1 a while back. reinstalling it fixed the problem.

i recommend doing a complete reinstall of both FS2 and FSO. :)
