Judaism – The first title, started it all. These days it looks kind of dodgy, but it still has the plenty of fans, who insist “It’s the original and the best” and “You guys are all playing watered down knockoffs!”. Their favourite is “Everyone knows the new testament just took the old testament and copied it”.
Christianity (Catholicism) – Started out as an expansion pack for Judaism, but eventually became much more popular – kind of like counter strike. Arse kicking Crusades level, the rest is pretty mundane. Final Boss (Pope) is a pushover once the the little car stops moving and his shield goes down.
Protestantism – Originally a mod for the Catholicism expansion pack, but eventually the mod team split and all made their own little changes to it, so there’re lots of incompatible servers around. Tonnes of people claim to love it, but Old School Catholics say it throws out the balance and wrecks the gameplay. Watch out for admins, tend to be really, really uptight about their rules.
Islam – Competition started up by a rival company trying to capitalize on the success of Christianity. New main character follows the Jesus mould, doesn’t bring much more to the gameplay except prettier graphics and more explosions. Cool ending cutscene with virgins. Games often rather short, watch out for self ownage, not hard to trigger.
Buddhism – Main character is a pudgy bald bloke. Controls are weird, difficult to get into but supposed to be absorbing in the upper levels. Avoid unless you’re willing to go for the long haul singleplayer mode.
Hinduism – Weird little title, a lot like those Japanese Playstation games that never get released in the west. Fractured plotlines, way too many different characters to get to know any one person well.
Scientology – Way overpriced, and storyline is utterly ridiculous, but gameplay is strangely addictive if you play for too long. Tried for a unique approach in manual (filmed as a movie) but killed by bad acting. Watch out for ocean levels, avoid if possible.
Mormonism – Obscure little title, nobody really plays much any more. Multiplayer mode was cool (turn “Polygamy mode” on in options screen), but recent patches have greyed the checkbox out for some reason.
Jehovas Witness – Annoying little title from a tiny dev house. Always trying to convince you to download the demo through spam emails. Avoid.

I know. Paganism is supposed to be sort of Pre-Doom/Wolf-3d sorta stuff. I couldn't think of anything funny to say about it though that actually made sense.

 goodstuff

Agnosticism:
Vaporware, like Duke Nukem Forever. Nobody's sure who owns the rights now. Most people don't think it will ever be released but some hold out hope.

Nice

Forget Commander Keen! Jazz Jackrabbit for the masses!

I never played the Command Keen games. Need to try those at some point. The Jazz Jackrabbit games are awesome though.

I played the original Duke Nukem, Crystal Caves, Monster Bash, Doom, Doom 2 (still play that one), Cosmo's cosmic space adventures (not the complete one, only had the ****ty shareware version), and a few others. I never played commander Keen though.
