But I'm not allowed to attatch files in the FSPort Forum, or the FS Upgrade forum (Might want to fix that last one).

God that's an ugly box+engine. I can see why it was changed for FS2. Nice start on the detailing, by the way. ;)
-
I have a question... why not make the FS2 one?
-
maybe he'll do both.
-
Because I'm a lazy and undertalented moddeler, and this one is easy. The Hygeia is not.
-
I always liked the Centaur...I don't know why, but I did.
-
Now for the cockpit and the engine.
I'd move this to the FSPort forum, but I can't 'cause I'm not a moderator here.
-
fine fine, hint taken.
-
Hot half-horsey goodness :)
Edit: Whoa, that didn't come out right :nervous:
-
Um... Well, cheers for the attention and all Raa, but the major reason for putting it into FSModding was so I'd be able to post it with the attatchment - how'm I supposed to post updates?
Oh, bugger it. I'll just use imageshack or something.
GE - Cockpit and engine are next. I've actually done a little bit on the engine as you can see, but not enough. The cockpit I have no idea how to approach however - it looks too big wide be single man (given that this thing is about FS fighter length and FS fighter cockpits end to be narrower) but I have absolutely no usable human model apart from Nico's, which is integrated into the seat too much for a side by side double seater. So yeah, challenge.
-
Eh? nicos humnan model is seprate from his seat...

Was done on Galemp's suggestion... :nervous:
-
All right, here - I'll move it to the FSUpgrade forum (it probably belongs there anyway) and enable attachments there. ;)

But Nico's model has no hands or feet, and relies on the seat being the shape that it is in order to work. It's physically seperate, yes, but only in the strictest sense.
-
you can still use it as a base upon wich to build a more extensive model, seeing as the uv-mapping and such is already there and good.
-
Technically, this doesn't belong here.
The Centaur is in the FS2 VPs. Technically it has as much right to be here as a High Poly Lucifer or Ganymede would :)
-
The titles wrong, it was originally in the FSModding forum

Ganymede? why ganymede?
-
Because it doesn't appear anywhere in the FS2 campaign?
-
It's in a few default milti-missions
-
So I see this thread is now playing Musical Forums :p

the box is for holding bays of missiles and bombs, and probably a bunch of safeguards for the tsunamis and harbingers to keep the from going off in a ship filled with warheads. :p
and the Hygeia is a next-generation support ship. :p
(to be honest, i kinda like the Centaur more. :nervous: )
-
Since the Apollo was in this forum, I think the Centaur belongs here too.
Anyway, looking good. :) What's the polycount/target polycount?
-
Wait wait wait... BW, I don't think you have to worry about the cockpit...
damn. Double checked and it's the Scarab that's unmanned. Oh well.
Still, there's no reason you can't model a new cockpit and plant the little dude in there, then map it with the cockpit map with some imagination and artistic license.
If it's too big for one guy to just sit there, here's an idea: have him sit off-center, and next to him put some sort of elaborate holographic battlefield display. If he's got the room in there and he has to concentrate on where his many rearm requests are coming from, it makes sense to give him a specialized 3D radar like a fleet commander would use. The actual representation doesn't need to be complex, just a few boxes and tetrahedra hovering there, but it would be neat.
250 polies...

I really like that idea.
-
If there's room (I'm not sure on the actual dimensions of the cockpit pod) you could include a second 'engineer' or 'loadmaster' guy behind the pilot like they have in cargo planes or AWACs and whatnot. Someone to manage requests, internal loads, etc - have them facing a different (ie, not out the window) way, at a workstation.
-
New pic. 1206 polies so far, obviously still needs a cockpit model, so budget another 500 or so for that. I've got a little more detailing to do, but I think this is about where the body will end up, leaving the LOD0 total at roughly 1800-2000.

Can we have an ass-view of the engine?
-
Galemp is all about the ass...
*ahem*
I concur though, an ass view would be very helpful.

Now you made me want that as a SCP feature, pop-up holo map.
-
i think it should have 2 guys inside one that is flying this crap and the other wich is controlling the rapairs etc and reloading :) and this cockpit is hugo so 2 guys would look good :)
