Since this seems to be the one form of renderring that doesn't choke my laptop to death, I had a bit of fun with it... Most of these are of ships that I haven't shown anyone before... so... yeah.

I'm tempted to make an entirely cell shaded mod for the game. (Hell, it'd be so much easier to map too :p)

The first one looks somewhat vasudan, the last one looks kinda vaygr, but hell.. they all look cool
-
Very cool Raa!
I like the one with the big medusa style bombing pods although it appears to be missing a cockpit.
-
The cocpit on that one is to be right above the two gun barrels.

As you can see, I like this effect. >..>

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm effecty..................

Oooo, cooool....

Nice models. :) That rendering drives home the fact that someone really needs to finish up the mv_cell set.
-
Say, where can you actually get that from?

That looks awesome

It's a material plugin that comes with the Brazil renderring system for 3ds max.
I wanna get hold of some of the cell shading maps for some fighters and see how it works out, since it can be used with maps, too.
-
Does it come "as standard" with 3DS Max? I've not seen it in my student copy and a little research implied it was about $1200 for a copy of Brazil...
-
Brazil is a seperate plugin made by Splutterfish... so, no, it doesn't come standard with 3ds Max.
-
Interesting...C4D comes with a celshading option for rendering, also better options for applying textures (much simpler to do multiple maps with C4D).
And I think by having Cinema4D I might have shot myself in the foot, gaming-model-wise, because as one might guess from the title, C4D was designed for the making of movies, and as such makes things that are practical for movies (having twenty maps on a model bothers Cinema4D not at all, the celshading option, some other things) but less so for games easier...while ignoring some things that are important to games. I don't even have a polycount function, much less a trianglization one, and trying to convert to or from formats that are better for game modeling is a vast pain.

3ds max comes stock with a cellshader. It's called Activeshade, but I prefer the Brazil engine to the max ones, personally. Much better effects and image resolution in my experience.

Ooooh, very nice.... :nod::yes:

Nice work dude. That last one looks like the one from Homeworld 2. ;) :p
(Is TAP influencing your work? :p )
