Little random thread, but I'm really bored tonight. even after my NHL Rangers won tonight in a 15 round shootout and listening to switchfoot )feel free to comment on that particular line). something is wrong with me, seriously...
Anyway onto the thread...
What are your favorite Single Player and Multi Player games? it can be the same game for both...
I'll start...
So far Far Cry has been my favorite Single Player game... So clear and thrilling!
Tribes: Vengeance is by FAR the BEST multiplayer game out there. ski's combined with jetpacks and a sick disc launcher complete the picture..
-
My favourite single player game(other than Freespace 2) would have to be Civilization IV. Just...one..more..turn.
Switchfoot?! Come on mate, you can do better.
-
Favorite single player game... NFS Most Wanted (on my PC). I always loved racing games, and this one is the best one I've played so far. The cop chases are a bloody blast. I'm just kinda peeved they took out the Civic... sure, it's in every other game, but why remove the most modable car in the world? Maybe the devs were too lazy to try and put everything for it in the game :)
Multiplayer Game... World of Warcraft. I've never played a game as long as I have this
-
Favorite single player game? I've too many of those, but Freespace 2 is probably the top, or at least near it.
As for multiplayer games, my absolute favorite has to be Super Smash Bros. Melee. In my first semester of College I met a group of people who introduced me to the competitive play aspect of the game and I've never looked back since.
-
Favorite single player games for me are
- System Shock 1 & 2
- Quake
- Tron 2.0
- Descent 1&2
- Freespace 1&2
- RTCW
wholly **** that ^ is cool.
One of my favorite multiplayer games in the past would have to be good old Natural Selection. We had some great all-nighters on that game. Other favorites would be Wolf:ET, SWAT 4, Tribes:V, and some mindless Q3A. I own The Longest Yard. It sucks though in Q4. very dissapointing.

1. KOTORs for singleplayer.
2. Halo 2 multiplayer.
3. Rainbow Six 3 multiplayer.
4. CS:S
5. Soldat.
6. Project Gotham Racing 3 multiplayer.
-
SP:
Freespace 1/2
Independence War 2
Half-life 1/2
SMAC
MP:
Unreal 2004
TFC
-
Pro Evolution Soccer 4 and Pro Evolution Soccer 4.
-
SP: Tron 2.0 is gorgeous, with amazingly innovative gameplay mechanics and great pacing.
Punisher is probably the most violent game I've ever played, but it's really funny and over the top, so that's OK.
I like SimCity 4 as well.
MP: Aliens vs. Predator 2 is about the only multi FPS I play anymore. It's just so much fun!
Warcraft III is also good; I'm talking about the traditional combat, not those silly hero scenarios where it's more like Serious Sam.
Descent 3 wins in both categories because it's still so fresh and different from anything else out there.
-
Give us Descent 4 damnit!
-
Oh damn! How could I forget my bread and life...
Halo:CE
16 player LAN edition.
-
The SP games are only the things I have played/replayed in the last two years or so and like a lot while the MP games are anything I spent a lot of time with at some point.
SP:
Deus Ex
Freespace 2
System Shock 2
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Battlezone 2
Ballistics
Descent 2
C&C Red Alert with my FW mod
Mission Critical
Lemmings and ONML
MP:

UT2004
Freespace 2
Descent 3
-
Well, for the last month...
SP: Half-life 2
MP: Dystopia
-
Right now I'm only playing NFS Most Wanted.
As has been said above, it's a blast. I'm something of an adrenaline freak and since I don't actually *own* an Aston Martin DB9, this is the next best thing. Just pop on some music and cruise around. The experience really does knock the socks off NFS Underground 2.

ford GT for me, but i agree, the game is fun
-
I see there are a few UT2K4 players here. it just so happens that I've been working on a level built from scratch. maybe I'll get a game going.

Guh.
Shoulda added Deus Ex to the list. I particularly like the Burden of 80 Proof mod for it, if you're in the mood for some sillyness. Zodiac is also a great mod, now just waiting for TNM to be released...
For me, a totally whacked out departure from my favorite style of game, I liked Ballistics a lot. I'm not totally into racing games much, but this was pretty impressive.
-
NHLPA 93 for the Mega-Drive.
And I don't play multi-player games. So I'll just say WoW.
-
SP:
Silent Hill 2
Perimeter
Legacy of Kain: Defiance
FS2
MP:
UT2k4
Quake 4
-
My favourites would probably be (in no order):
ICO
Beyond Good & Evil
System Shock 2
FS(2)
NOLF
G Police
Half Life
I don't really play multiplayer games much. Call of Duty was fun for a while...

I just read the description on the Burden of 80 Proof website. I must try this. The original game is already loaded with silliness in the form of small glitches, so this should be interesting. :D

What are your speed records? I can get 2600 peak and 1250 average pretty consistently in Houston Sewers. The world record is insane, something over 4000 peak.

PM me if you want to set up something.

I have UT2004 installed myself, but never play it. Uninstaller seems to be broke.
-
Some of my all time favs...
SP: Mechwarrior 2 series, FS series, XWing series.
MP: Tribes series, Battlefield 1942, UT2K4, and hands down favorite - Allegiance. Closest thing to a perfect game for me.
-
FS2 - Of course
Sacrifice - Still one of the most original RTS games ever
Battlezone - Cold war in space. Yay.
Heavy Gear II - Robots. Big ones. With bazookas.
Mechwarrior III - More robots.
Independence War II - I love my anti-matter PBCs...
-
I should add in my favorite RPG style games as well while I'm here again.
Of course Final Fantasy 7 for PC, and Anachronox. Man, what would the world be like without Anachronox? (probably the same since it never got the attention it really deserved.)

My best time I recorded, on the first track, I avg'd 430, best lap was 35 seconds, topped out near 1350. Houston sewers track was wicked. I hated that with a passion. it's actually pretty tough to hit everything just right to keep the speed up. I suck at racing games personally, but it was really fun and different.
