Culture-shocking comedian Richard Pryor died today from a heart attack. 'Tis a sad day for the greatest comics of his time. So long, Richie, you will be missed. :(

A Great Comedian I hate to hear it :(
The man was the forefather of black comedy, every black comedian today borrows from his style.

:sigh:

In 1980, he suffered serious burns over about half his body when he set himself on fire while freebasing cocaine - dissolving it over a flame and inhaling the fumes.
He later said the incident was actually a suicide attempt.
But he later incorporated the event into his routine, joking that igniting yourself "sobers you up pretty fast".

Well FHM were running a column by the guy with a title like "He's not dead yet" so this isn't a huge surprise. But from what I've seen of his stand up he was pretty funny live even if most people will probably know of him from the movies he did with Gene Wilder.

There's a Richard Pryor tribute on SHOUTcast.
Fire up WinAmp, Alt-L, SHOUTcast Radio and search for 'Pryor'

It's been a long time coming, he's been seriously ill anyway, we all knew it was coming really.
It sucks.

He also had a special called "I'm not dead yet"
but yes, it's sad, and he was funny, but i'm sure he'd be joking about it right now if he could, cause that's just him.
