Title: Mod usage problem
Post by: Ghost on December 15, 2005, 04:17:50 pm
I'll post my specs later. All I can tell you is that I tried using both 367 default and Redmenace's 12/9 build. Anyway. I recently installed the FS1 port, and ran the launcher to play it. I go to mod, click Select mod, pick the port, and it says "folder name not allowed to have space" or some such malarkey. And yes, I've seen this before, but it's never been a problem. The thing that's irritating me this time is that I DON'T have a space in the name. The folder name is "port." Does anyone know what's up with that?

Where do you have FS2 installed?  I've heard of this being a problem if you put it in Program Files; the space there will throw off the Launcher.

Nope. I have it in a drive named K:, so it's K:/Freespace.

And where's the launcher?

I use a shortcut for ease of use, but the actual launcher file would be in K:/Freespace 2 (didn't feel like going back and editing my previous post to put in the 2).

Ah, there's the problem.  If it's "Freespace 2" and not "Freespace2" then you have a space in your path and the launcher will still throw that warning.
