Title: Starfox render (cheap)
Post by: DaBrain on December 18, 2005, 01:53:43 pm
Just some in-game models with in-game maps and an in-game background.

It's actually quite fun to set up a scene like this. :)

Those things look a lot bigger compared to the Arwing then I remember...

They actually are almost as big as the Arwing. I've made them smaller in this scene, but the perspective makes them look bigger again...

BTW the lvlshot feature is useless. I can't see half of the picture.  :ick:

I wanna learn to get that brushed metal look... my lizard ships could really benefit from looking more like metal.

I think you swung those wings a bit too far back...

The model should be pretty accurate. This is the Arwing on the Cover of the game. The one in the game looked a bit (appart from the extreme low-poly look) different from that though...

BTW next one:

Using white spraypaint and the overlay (layer blending) effect in photoshop is useful for that, although obviously you need a few other layers of light dark etc shading.

Wow, very cool :D

That was an alright game too, although I beat the whole thing in like five hours.

SF Assault greatly disappointed me in all but visuals.

It was very nice looking.  ;7

Can we expect to see the "ArwingX-03" in-game?

<_<

>_>

DO A BARREL ROLL

... I mean, yeah it looks really great, nice to see you can end up with something brilliant from such a minimal base in terms of detail.

The N64 version (and all the other versions I presume, at least, before N64) were quite short, but they're still one of the most long-lived games in my collection, the replayability is so fecking great

Yup I still fire up SF64 now and then.

Those Arwings are gorgeous, Nintendo should pay you good money for those for a Revo sequel  ;)

Now finish a texture tutorial on how you made those! :p

I've textured the first two Arwings only. The third one has been textured by Omniscaper. I'm only tweaking his maps. There is not much to tweak though. :) He has done a very good job on them.

Only some minor stuff, like the stuff on the green parts (breaks?) needed some fxing.

I loved SF64.  Once got over 600 kills in area 6, messed up the counter so badly that my killboard is still screwed up.  And it's short enough to sit down to and just finish, which is really a big selling point these days.

DaBrain - I think those are the back-end of the G-Diffusers, which do more than break.

"Check your g-diffusers!"

Another nice shot.  ;7

Time to add something. Even though it's just WIP. :

Rendering is really fun.

Perspective issues. ;)

The camera field of view it pretty small, so everything looks bigger and closer.

Too bad I need a 90 degree field of view for a skybox.... it doesn't look as fancy. :(
