Ok, me and my little brother get ipods for christmas. We had a shuffle before, and every time we plugged it into our usb port, itunes would recognize it and it would add songs. It worked for my little brothers. But everytime I plug mine in while itunes is running, itunes turns retarded and becomes "not responding." I've reinstalled it like 5 times, tried everything I could. What can I do? Can anyone help me? I don't want this ~400$ present to go to waste cause I can't put songs on.

Beat up the one who gave it to you :drevil:
Or you could find out who bought it to you and where, and try to change it to a new one. 'Cause it looks to me that your ipoddy isn't working...

This is strange, after about 10 or so minutes of it being plugged in, it just started working. This thread can be closed or whatever, unless another problem arises :(.

Well aside from RTFM...
Not sure...could be a defective unit. Watch it closely.

could be that itunes can't tell the difference between yours ipod and your brothers, i mean is the music library the same as your brothers?

Good lord, this was hard to find. No wonder I keep having to tell people about it.

We both share this computer so we have the same library. The problem was that I would open up itunes, then i would plug in my ipod. My ipod would not show up in itunes, but it would show up in windows. After some fiddling, such as install/reinstall/i dont know what the hell i did, it finally recognized it and is working again. My ipod is working just fine. At my friends house, when i plug it into his, the ipod is recognized just fine. I just think my computer is f'ed up.
