Title: 3D Studio MAX
Post by: Thorn on September 25, 2001, 12:36:00 pm
I know this has been asked before, but my search turned up nothing of signifigance, so.....
What do I need to be able to edit FS2 ships in 3DS MAX, and to convert MAX files to FS2 files (cob, pof, whatever the hell they are)?

3D Exploration (to convert the COB file to a DXF) and TONS of patience to get the textures aligned correctly.

you can make the models in MAX save them and open them up in "trueSpace" to add the lights and name them, save it then use Kazans tools to convert them to pof

No, and no. Why do people that don't know talk about that? You do everything in 3dsMax, even the maps, then you export as a .3ds file (file/export). Then you can open the 3ds file in TS (even the first one, coz it's the one I began with, you open a file, and in the rollout menu you choose 3ds).
