There's javascript that can make it do that.

Any correlation with sites visited?

Hehe, that's damn annoying indeed.
Had a case of this years ago. Never sorted it out.. probably a hardware fault.

nothin'. I'm using Adaware Pro and McAfee Antivirus that gets updated whenever there's a new update.

There's javascript that can make it do that.

i don't think so...

the funny thing is, it goes crazy for a few days, and then it stops, and a few months later it starts up again.

LOL!

It shouldn't show up in any virus scanner because the code is so simple.  Check your background processes, and look for anything suspicious.

Not absolutley sure it wouldnt show up in a virus scanner but all I know is someone I know made a program that does the same thing and every virus scanner used wouldnt show it up as a virus.

I may be wrong but that's the way I figure it.

iTunes did this to me one night.  That program has a mind of it's own I swear.  I'm not playing the "PC Rulz, Mac Sux" card, but I must say that this program is ****e.  One night I had it open but minimized and I was doing other things in Sound Forge.  Suddenly my system would freeze up, and both my drives would eject at once.  I press the eject button again, and they stay retracted for a minute, then spit back out again.  I killed iTunes, and I closed the drives again.  That time they stayed shut.  So I go to open iTunes again, and the damn drives ejected again on program startup.  I silently smacked my power button and waited patiently for the system to shut down...  I only use it now to change the playlist on the shuffle, to hell with using it to convert to AAC.
