I never got around to fixing the RFC bugs, and since the search is down... *glares at administrators* :p
so, post 'em here.

When I want to start missions, the weapons loadout is minimal.
I wanted to start mission 3, I got the report that I have access to a Cyclops 2 but my ship selection was ... odd. I had a Ulysses by default, stripped of all weapons and only a Tornado Missile and 3 types of lasers. The other ship choices where Zeus and Medusa. No sign of this bomb I was promised to get.

Turalyon. I suspect your problems are due to another mod. Lets resolve this on the other thread before you post them here as legitimate bugs in the campaign that need to be fixed in FRED.

Ok, this has to be a mission bug.
In the mission "The Portal" where I have to fly through the Knossos portal to scan some shivan ships, I fly "through" the portal and come out of the other end but still in the same system, not the one where the shivans are supposed to be in. When I try Alt + J, I get the mission failed report

for one thing, this isn't X-Wing Alliance, where you can jump to different systems. :p
also, i'll see what i can do. :)

It's the first mission after you became ´were transferred to the Marco Polo. (after the mission where you have to fly 50 km to the MP and you are attacked by 3 wings of Thots)

It's me again, the bug monster.
The last bug reported, with the jump error, it was my mistake, sorry :)
My gaepad was bad calibrated and the game interpreted even light rolling as movement and the mission failed.
But I have another thing.
I just had played the first and second mission in the nebula, where you have to protect 3 gas miner ships. After completing the missions, I got the mission success report but also the mission failed report. Since it's not a game ending but, it's just cosmetic and therefore not primary. But I just wanted to tell you :)

But I think I have to lower the details a bit, in big battles the game tends to crash

second: i have the last time play revenge a half year ago, so i dont know all name exactly.
yeah with many trouble in the sector bring revenge FS to crash.
and second thing is that the weapons will dont "fire".
you have sound and the game count your rockets and energy down, but no graphic and any effect on the target.
thats realy big ****, why you cant fight so.
in the second campaign: mission Taxi!, where the supplier you should bring to the second knossos portal in the nebular, thats didnt work with SCP.
first time: he rotate 180° and than he undocking and fly away without you and the mission failed.
in the second campaign too: but is a old error: there where you recapture the 2 aeolus corvettes, there were muntiy, the corvettes jump out, but dont have any effect, so that you can jump out too.
the game say: mission failded, retreat without permission.
i have the capture data edit, so that if you try it to repeat the next mission will load, but i think thats not a real patch *g*

The Bug Monster is back
I have another one in the mission "Löcher stopfen" (in english it would be "Plug a hole").
It's the mission where you have to hurry to the Vega - Gamm Draconis Knossos Portal to save the GTD Babylon and the GTI that controls the gate. At the start of the mission, you arrive in a jumppoint and you see 2 Lilith Cruisers and one Rakshasa already there. When you use the T button to click yourself through the objects at one point the game crashes everytime. I don't know which object it is, I think, it's one of the jumppoints, since I could mark everything else (every fighter, capital ship, installation and the knossos portal).
To conclude: Whenever you mark this jumppoint (if it is the JP) the game does a CTD

That's an SCP bug.

hi,
first time i played revenge with the normal FS2 and there are the bug, too.
maybe a limitation or error in the engine, but in inferno all work, and there was mission with many fighters and capital ships, too.
so i think its maybe a script or the modification of the weapons or fighters in this campain, that the weapons will not work.
btw: inferno i played with normal FS2, too.

with normal FS2 its work, but not with SCP.
Obviously there's a misplaced objective SEXP somewhere...

thats an error with the engine.
if you get CTDs or texture errors or anything other than the kind of bugs Mehrpack posted, check with the SCP team, if you're playing SCP and not retail.
I play it on retail, it doesn't work on SCP for me, because it needs a modified root_fs2.vp which won't work on SCP (at least for me, I tried it)

I experienced the same thing several times. I fire my energy weapons and I hear it firing but I don't see them firing. It's like firing a machine gun at night and one in 10 shots is light tracer ammunition, which themselves come out at random. Same with rockets, you fire them, but you don't see them fly away. IN rare occasions the rocket(s) still hit, experienced that with 2 Trebuchets which I didn't see coming out destroying the beam cannons of a Rakshasa.

I just had this mission. It's called "Massnahmen" in german (would be "Measures" in english). You disable both Corvettes, the transports jump in, dock with the corvettes, jump out a second later, mission says "successful", Marco Polo says "Jump out, mission accomplished", the mission debriefing says "Well done, we got them, thanks to you" but upon clicking done you have the choices between "Back to debriefing", "To Flightdeck" and "Repeat mission".
Related to that. The mission before this mission I just described. There you have to try to disable the corvettes, but they jump out. A minute or so later, a group of 20 cruisers jumps in and you have to kill them all. After killing them, and leaving the mission I get the mission failed report with the first sentence being "Because of your failure the cruisers destroyed the Marco Polo." You still can click done and the game continous to the mission described above.

You won't believe it, but I seem to have found this mission-failed-despite-success bug
In the mission, on the left side on the list where you see what to do, the color of the primary targets (to protect the Malvolence and Marco Polo) turn blue which normally means accomplihed.
BUT
When you press F4 to see the mission details, you see this, even after the transports jumped out with the corvettes and the Marco Polo tells you to do the same.

The primary objectives, protecting the Malvolence and Marco Polo are still active and their status doesn't change. So the mission can't be accomplished successful, since I jump out "too early"

mhh strange, that version that i have is the missions seperate and the modificated root_fs2.vp
if that missions are in a vp, have you a link to this version?
yes is mission 50 and turalyon discripe the mission "Massnahmen", as this.
i have a question: any attemp to rebalancing any missions?
some missions are really really hard.
@turalyon: yes sometimes i have in the debriefings: mission failed, too.
but the missions was succesful and i had can play the next missions.

Would it help to finish that mission when I change the "primary" to "secondary" for the Protect Objectives and the "secondary" to "primary" for the Recover target?

no, because then it would screw up the mission and make it no fun when it's fixed. ;)

[EDIT] I think i see the problem. the goal SEXPs shouldn't be not-destroyed, that always causes problems. PM me with the full storyline of Massnahmen. :)

yeah, there's definitely a mis-used goal SEXP in the debriefing. once you post the vp for me i can take a look. :)

It's possible the version you got from me is different from the versions the others are using. I have no recollection of where I got my version from.
EDIT : I suspect it's the renamed, altered root_fs2.vp that was packaged with the campaign. In that case the missions are probably lurking in the data folder on my HD. Catch me on IM and I'll send them over.
EDIT 2 : The problem is not the is-destroyed SEXP. It's the time elapsed. If the player leaves the mission before 20 minutes the game will say that he has failed the goals. You shouldn't ever use time-elapsed in this way. The goals should be linked to an event that comes true when the mission is complete.

I did wait 20 minutes. When the transports jumped out the mission was approx 6 minutes old. The Malovolence and Marco Polo had a 17 minute trip to a waypoint where they just stopped their engines and sat there.
The mission as still failed :-(

Here's a fixed version of mission 50. Someone posted an error a couple of years ago and I fixed it for them. I don't remember anything about it beyond that.

I only changed the text in the " " nothing else. Maybe I forgot a " anywere °_°

Maybe i find here a few bugs, there i haven't noticed yet, good work :)
To the Translation... the Translation is still in Progress (additional i haven't Internet @home atm.), i have no problem, when you translate the missions.
I add a few SCP features to the Campaign (new Nebulas/Planets/Weapon Effects and different (SCP)SEXPs in the Missions to fix a few problems or simply to speed up the mission, but then i don't need to translate the rest :)
But i must say, i'm impressed of all these Revenge Threads
