Title: Is this mod going anywhere?
Post by: ryuune75 on January 13, 2006, 05:48:03 am
Last time i was around here was...uh, 18 months ago, and, well, nothing has been done, as far as I can see...

Lols.

Much progress is being made behind the scenes. :)

We should have more to show soonish.

I daresay we should have a release out at least by the end of 2006. :)
Presuming all goes to plan anywho. ;)

But yeah, things are still moving. We still need modellers and near any other help too. But modelling and texture making is the biggest hold up atm.
It's not just for ships either, there are plenty of other miscellaneous assets that need modelling. So all help is welcomed in that form. :)

TAP will never die though. We're like a virus, just keep coming back and back. :p

Just a suggestion for the mission design: make it likeyou're being commanded, like, have your orders change from attack such and such to attack such and such to attack fighter group to guard this, etc.

Because he's not staff foo. :p

Also... what is with these posts about projects not going anywhere. They can't see a damned thin in the internal and assume the project is dead?:wtf:

Actually, we have brief glimpses of internals via the topic titles, and we can tell when they're not active. :P

Well a lot of the threads have misleading titles and we're very active at the moment so...

:p

Well, because active projects have something to show from time to time, at least just to keep some interests from people who are not in the project... here there is nothing to see so i suppose nothing has been done.

LoL. Few other projects show much either.
I explained it all a while back in one of the news updates.

Basically a while back I said we are starting from scratch so as to keep up with SCP.
So near all models are being redone completely, no more mere ports, textures are being done up, new SCP features are being worked on etc.

Also if anyone was watching the internal threads being replied to you would be able to see alot of activity. :)

But yes, rest assured we are going somewhere, progress is happening, and we have based our immediate goals around getting a first release out. Small but a release.

More info will be made available.

Again modellers and texture artists are our biggest hold up. With only 1 or 2 people working on things in that area, they move slowly. So its not our fault, its you guys fault! :p
(kidding btw :p )

A small hint:

There's a pass in the Middle East that plays a big part of the story.

LoL. If anyone gets that reference when we release they win a giant cookie.

I've had plans for a while now to hide a few things in the campaigns. More on that later though. :)

Nope, we're teh dead. See the thread "ironing" when the private is updated ?

That's how to iron yer shirts. That's the kind of thing we talk about nowadays. That, and slagging off non-Tappers.

Note: Joke  :p

I... don't think non-internal pokes can see the thread titles, or, in fact, any internal activity. So... they likely have no idea what you're on about.

On the main forum page though, it displays "Lastest Post" and then the thread title of whereever that post happened to be.  Everyone can see that.

Yeah... but I've never seen internal posts on any forum I'm not a team member on...

The latest post notice indicates both public and private threads, though I imagine most don't know what I'm going on about anyway.

Yes... but if I post in the MT internal, you don't see "[PRIVATE]Machina Terra Internal" do you?

It did back on Gamespy, but the new forum software doesn't do that as far as I know.  What I do know is that whenever I come in to a forum marked as recently posted there is always a thread inside that has posts I haven't read.  I.e. I think it excludes subforums unless you have access to those subforums.

I hope this mod gets off the ground. There is already a partially complete FS2 mod for Homeworld 2 out. The version thats currently out migh be more up to date than the one I tried however.
So yes get this one done. Its only fitting for a HW FS2 mod as theres already a FS2 HW2 mod...

Um, are you sure?
To my knowledge there is no other Homeworld mods for FS2... o.O

Funny how he'd know how far along this campaign is.

I believe he's referring to FS:NA (http://www.game-warden.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12). As in a HW-->FS2 mod as well as a FS2-->HW2 mod.

Ah I see. I havn't seen any Homeworld ships in FS2 from them yet though... right?

But yeah...
