It makes little, if any, sense.
And all the parts that do make sense are poorly written and horrifically implimented.
I mean, I kinda get the whole "We've used Seefra to seal Tarn Vedra off from the Abyss" thing - but how is it that the Vedrans knew about the Abyss with enough warning to build an entire star system to defeat it? And they'd've basically had to have known pretty much everything about everything to get **** to work.
And how come there were just some Vedran ships hanging around waiting to come back through the slipstream portal?
And what the **** was the Abyss? The whole 'planetary avatars' thing was just plain stupid, but at least that was kind of explained. The Abyss was just some big evil thing with no real purpose or point to it other than to **** with people. Though, I assumed it was the equivelant of the avatar of the vaccuum of space - but even that has it's problems.
The whole thing just wreaks of ****ty writing and half-assery in all aspects of it's production. It's like the stories I used to write when I was 7. A bunch of **** happens, then all of a sudden about 10 plots all crash together and end for no apparent reason, then the main characters stroll off home.
****ing bull****.

I love Andromeda no matter what anyone says about it.

It took you this long to realise?
I really tried hard to like Andromeda. I managed to stick with it till about season 3 but eventually I got sick of it. The show had some really good ideas but the execution of them was so bad that in the end I couldn't be bothered to watch it any more.

Never saw the final episode...

I saw only seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 was ok, but beginning with season 1 finale, it was just not it anymore. It became Hercules in space. Shame :(

The whole series is like that. :p

Same here.
Basically this show fell to the same poor writing that ****ed up EFC after season 1.

Okay, I can accept that people don't like the show, but you have to admit that the Commonwealth has the coolest fleet of warships (http://www.saveandromeda.com/allsystems/ships/shipsindex.htm) in all of sci fi.

Cools special effects doesn't make the show any good. The writing was rotten. Inner rot always spreads outwards.

In my opinion, the universe and the special effects, (the ships, really), made the show worth watching, regardless of the bad writing/acting. It's the same reason I like Star Wars-- the writing was terrible, the acting was mediocre at best, but the story and the effects were enough to make me enjoy the movies. I wouldn't call either Andromeda or Star Wars good; but I think they're damn good fun.
