My second attempt at making something in Illustrator:

You're missing at least two turrets (nose and dorsal), but apart from that it's cool. :)
-
Thanks :)
This version had the turrets removed and modifications to the bomb-bay to allow it to carry the 'Grand Slam' bomb - I guess when you are lifting 22,000lb, you need all the help you can get... ;)

Looks nice, and a bit off-topic question, but in Catch-22, Yossarian flew in what plane? I don't remember it being mentioned in the book
-
Well, it wouldn't be one of these. ;) I seem to recall there were fighters involved, or possibly B25s, but I can't remember. It's been years since I read the book...
EDIT: Ah, I was right. B25 it was... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yossarian
Fair enough, Clave - I wasn't aware the turrets were removed for that version. :)

Pretty cool :)

Now for the real question...is the insignia authentic? :)
-
Ah yes, I got corrected on that pretty damn quickly over on a WW2 forum I belong to - including the yellow edging round the letters and I got told to remove the squadron badge which I had so carefully placed on the nose
The guy meant well, but was incredibly picky, so I chose the actual lettering from a picture he posted:
Edit: No link from there

Thats a damn nice bomber. And that bomb is a bad-ass MoFo.
