Title: How to install Freespace 2 in Linux Slackware 10.2
Post by: marvel_01 on January 17, 2006, 09:59:58 am
Hello,

I downloaded Freespace 2 from www.freespacezone.com all 3 cds.  I would like to play it on Linux Slackware 10.2, so I downloaded the linux installer from http://www.icculus.org/~ravage/freespace2/.    When I have the 1st CD mounted and run the script from xterm, the installation screen showed, but later in xterm it seemed that the installer is asking for some files which is none existant!!!??  (according to what I browsed later in the CDs).   Advise needed please.  How to actually get it running.

Thanks

Hmm, I've never run that installer (I'm running under Windows), but is it possible that you need to run it as root to access your CD drive? (IE is the drive chmodded to 755?)

I think you have to extract some stuff from the CAB files.
