Title: Sim of the Year edition
Post by: Mox on January 22, 2006, 09:08:21 pm
Does anyone know what the 20 extra missions are like?
Just need to know if it's worth it to hunt down this edition.

Cheers
Mike

You can download them for free, all Interplay did was repackage some user made missions, IIRC.

user made missions, the vasudan HOL campaign, some more multi missions, nothing you can't find online. Its the version I bought way back in the day.

Thanks very much for the help.
Do you know where I can d/l the HOL campaign?

Can anyone list the missions in this edition?
The only one I've found is the Templar campaign, but can't find anywhere to d/l it.

Don't really want to pay $70+ for a few extra missions, but seems to be heading that way...

I don't think the Templar campaign packaged with the SotY edition has any play balancing changes to make it suitable for single player. You're better off playing the normal multiplayer version of it (just start an IP game and play by yourself), as you will get respawns that way.

As for the other missions, I think they were all originally from the Descent Chronicles archives, but I don't know where to get them now. There are quite a few people here who have the SotY edition; someone could probably upload the missions for the rest of us.
