So uh, what do I need to edit to make the Faustus not be so darn stealthy? I have the 20060116 CVS build, the 3.6.8 media VP's and every thing else seems to work pretty well. All I get for the science vessel is engine glows. Which is cool. But I keep ramming them when I'm escorting them.

Do you have -img2dds (Compress non-compressed textures) on? When I have it on, it made a lot of things transparent =(

the -img2dds tag is broken until further notice. you'll just have to make do with the hanging until it's fixed.

Odd. I have never used the -imgdds compression tag. Maybe I need a new faustus .pof file or new textures for it? I wish I could search the forums. I'm sure stuff like this has been answered before.

And you haven't done something silly like missing mv_textures or the like?

not yet. I'm just now figuring out how to do get myself in trouble messing with those files.

What was the problem in the end?

dunno. I would guess that I corrupted the media vp with the faustus textures when i downloaded it the first time. I had the problem before I figured out how to get in there and muck around so I imagine it was an unzipping error or bad bit or something random and unrelated to freespace coding.
