I was a bit clumsy around my guitar lately and managed to swipe my arm against the end of one of the strings up at the top of the neck. Scored myself this little scar, which is actually quite minor, but it looks sorta cool. :) Anyway, does anyone else have any good scars? I know some people have stuff they migh want to share. ;)

I'll see if I can get a picture later, but I've got remnants of a scar from when I was about three on the back of my head. The hair seems to form around it, and from what I've heard, it forms some sort of Nike swoosh.
-
Well here's a random topic :)
And strangely, yes I do. Not from recent events (luckily) but from a medical issue at birth which required surgery on both my ankles to correct the way they pointed. Suffice to say I've some very large/impressive/permenant scars on both of them.
I've a scar on my left thumb from when I sliced it open on a computer case while trying to extract a 3 1/2 floppy drive.
And the base kunckle on my middle finger is scared after I gouged a chunk out of it with a razor (by accident, heh).
-
Twin scars on my left hand when a friend stabbed me with two scalpels.
Little scar also on my left hand, on the palm, when aforementioned friend stabbed me with a pen.
Mystery scar on the palm of my right hand which just spontaneously appeared there, so I can tell.
Err... my sense of taste and smell got b0rked slightly when I smashed my nose into a car when I was very young. Used to have nosebleeds while I was sleeping and everything.
-
Not that I can post on a family forum. :p
Nah, I've got a hernia scar that has all but vanished (happened when I was 3), one on my chin from a face-first slide down a hill, one across my kneecap, and a little one from when my head met a corner cupboard unit in school.
-
yes. on both wrists.
nah, seriously, a couple in the face, graciously given to me by my dear sister.
and a lot of other ones, too. most of them on the right hand.
-
Invisible scar on the top of my head when it was split open after a car crash*, strange wee diagonal (hairless) scar across one of my eyebrows with no apparent reason, giant big dodgy lumps of macerated scar tissue on my knees after years of kamikaze slide-tackles on astroturf and ash pitches.
*ok, I was a nipped and crashed my sit-on dumper truck into a wall after going down a hill. Happy?
-
Nothing too huge and impressive yet, thankfully, as I'd rather not go through the pain of getting them :D Still, a few minor ones: Each of my knees has a scar courtesy of crashing on bicycles (actually, the second one was the heavily loaded bicycle crashing onto me), I have a nice V shaped one a little above my left ankle, also from a bicycle incident (seeing the trend here?). Finally, and my oldest scar, I have a 1.5cm horizontal one just under my nose, caused by standing a bit too closely behind a friend of mine while he was shoveling sand in kindergarten. That one hurt. Nothing else really worth mentioning.
-
I got one right above my eye. Got 6 stitches after getting elbowed in a basketball game. My eye turned nice and purple for a a week or 2 after

Twin scars on my left hand when a friend stabbed me with two scalpels.
Now why does this sentence seem odd to me.... hmmm..... :blah:
-
Hmm... lemme just say...
Bakery delivery van: 1
me: 0
Large (aprox .75cm wide, 3 cm long) scar on my forehead
Another (0.4cm by 3cm) one on my forehead
another hairline scar about 5cm long on my forehead
some other non-notable ones
Most of back of left hand composed of scarred tissue
And a few roundish ones on my right hand from falling down a staircase 4 months ago
-
Hmm... I don't really have any to speak of, but I'll bet bob has one from that coat hanger ricocheting and lodging in his head. :p

Is he still your friend?

I've got an eighteen inch long cutlass slash along my chest - picked it up boarding a merchantman fll of porcelain in the South China Sea. :arrr:
-
I was playing football with two friends, 1 VS 1 + goalie. Well, goalie kicked the ball in the air and me'n the other dashed for it. We both jumped towards the ball from diferent direction. As the result, we didn't see each other and our heads collided, his teeth went right into my forehead.
Guy lost a few teeth, and as for me....lot of blood, some pain and nice lil'scar. Took some 6-7 stitches to fix it...

You should learn from the Somalis, and use an RPG next time.

I've got a 20cm scar running vertically on my chest. Beat that! :D

Dude, that's your nipple :nervous: *runs away again*
I got an ugly scar on my right knee. Accident during gym. We had to jump over this rope that was attached to these 2 poles. I missed the rope and hitted one of the poles with my said knee. At least, I think that happened. Now I doubt, as I remember that those poles were rather not stable, and that they would fall if I hitted them. Whatever, I managed to dislocate my kneecap and my ligament was ripped, requiring surgery.
-
Eddie, that sure looks like a wound, not a scar. How old is it?
And I've got a small gouge out of the middle of my forehead. We were playing toss-the-ball-up-in-the-air-and-see-who-can-catch-it in 2nd grade when I collided with another kid. We both were wearing glasses, so the corner of my glasses jabbed him underneath his eye, while his glasses availed themselves of a chunk of forehead. His wound wasn't bleeding, but he was crying like mad, while mine didn't hurt, but I was bleeding all over the place. :p
Greg, if you're reading this by some weird coincidence, I forgive you! Get in touch, man! :p

I have a circular one on my ankle from a dog bite. I'll try to get a photo later :)

Oddly enough... me too.

I was working with a dremel tool, the bit was a high-speed steel metal cutter, and I was removing window putty from a glass window that had been broken. A co-worker came up and pounded on the table to scare me, and I brought the dremel tool down on top of my left hand, barely missing the major arteries in my hand. I've got a small patch of skin that looks goofy on top of my left hand now, about the size of a nickel.
-
Dude, that's your nipple :nervous: *runs away again*
You have 20cm long nipples?!
-
Eddie, that sure looks like a wound, not a scar. How old is it?
Actually, that's what I meant. In all likelihood it won't scar at all - I've had worse that's healed over completely. :)
And no one's got photos? I'm disappointed! :D
-
I've got a large collection, but I won't have a digital camera until tomorrow. :) Mostly it's smaller scars punctuated with large swipes and a few burn marks.
-
I've got a cross shaped scar on my forehead, one slash on my chin that's covered by my goatee (most of the time, anyway), and a few from barbed wire on my legs. All from back when I was fighting in 'Nam*, of course.
* Actually, it was all on the ongoing secret war with the alien invaders over the Amazon Forest, but I wasn't supposed to tell you that.
-
I`ve got a few on my right leg, no hair wil grow there.. Molten iron at 2800 degrees can be a hazard if not handled carefully, as I found out.. Hmm, that was over 30 years ago..
-
A scar on the underside of my left arm right above the elbow. Got it in a bicycling accident, I got to have fun landing on rebar. I have several on my hands, some of which I can't remember how I got. One on my left hand is from doing something with a computer, can't remember what though, and there's my left thumb which almost got all of the skin to the left of my thumbnail sliced off. There's a couple on my right hand too but I can't remember those. Oh, and one under my eye from a fight, it's almost gone but you can still see it upon close examination.
This didn't leave much of a scar, really barely noticable, but still there. I had a mishap with homemade torches (actual torches made from rags and sticks) and Kerosene. I decided that pouring kerosene straight from the can onto the torch wouldn't result in anything disastorous. I have not idea where my head was a the timd. :D Resulted in a couple of second degree burns, but for the most part 1st degree.
It did a flamethrower effect and caught me on my left side. Caught the left side of my shirt on fire and burnt my left wrist and some figners up nicely. I feel lucky because the way I look at it, if that can had been pointed more toward the center of my chest it would've gotten me alot worse.
-
got a two-inch long scar in the middle of my chest where the hollow-point of a bicycle handlebar went into my chest.

Duude. It sounds soooooo much more macho if you don't elaborate. "I've got a 2-inch scar in my chest from the entry would of a hollow-point." ;)
-
Several of them...
One huge one across my elbow and part of the forearm (broke the elbow, doctors opened it up to fix it)
One on my other hand ( t7 big stiches), on the forearm (cut myself all the way to teh bone)
One small one on the head (1 stich after I got hit with a huge rock, but the metalic sowing needle broke INSIDE whle the doc tried to saw i, so he had to get it out with another.....yes, I'm thick-headed )
Some miniature ones here and there...

long story, riding the bike, wheel inverted, handlebar went straight into my chest, at the sternum. left a pretty nasty welt and a scar, not to mention knocking me quite senseless as i flew a fair distance.
that said, it could've been much worse

Less story, more photo!
Here are four of the many. Most of these I got through my own stupidity :D
psycho-demon-death-cat (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4655/scar19mt.jpg)
Different cat, but generally felines don't like being rolled over on, even when you're sleeping. (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/3320/scar20uc.jpg)
Pressure washer motors surprisingly do become somewhat warm after running for ten minutes (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4690/burn3ym.jpg)
I have proof! Vampires do exist! (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/3585/vampires4em.jpg)
And of course the various other nicks and scrapes, too many to count right now.
-
One rrrreally old one on my right cheeck. About 4cm long. It's quite unnoticeable but since I know it's there I can see it well.
How I got it? Teased my grandmothers cat when I was about 5 years old.
And just recently I teared my right hand knuckles to my friends broken motherboard when I was throwing it away.
-
So very many stories to tell. Bless you, Setekh.
Lessee, I've got a small scar right below my left Eyebrow from where I tripped and bashed my head on a lawn chair when I was young.
I've got two surgical scars right at the spot where my stomach meets my pelvis. I was born with a hurnia (sp?), and had it removed a year or so after I was born.
My elbow is kinda mangled from when I got into a bike riding accident. I was doing sharp turns around an apartment complex's parking lot, and misjudged just how close I could get to the baking hot asphalt. 2 meters skidding along on my elbow...
I have another small scar right at the tip of my forearm.
My brother probably has the most cringe-inducing story you'll ever hear, though.
-
i do but there all suicide marks that im not too prowd to show off
-
yeah, right across the front of my head... oh wait that's my face...
right, yes, that was lame. seriously, i have a little t-shape under my lower lip from when a boy in my yr 10 PE class hit me in the mouth with a hockey stick and my teeth almost saw the light'o'day via my lip.
-
Excuse my dirty hippy feet.
From almost taking my toe off (mere milimeters from hitting the joint and cutting the tendons) by running into a moddeling knife i left on the floor. 5 stitches
(http://www.hades-combine.com/images/scar2.jpg)
Tripping on and falling into the corner of a brick walkway when i was 4-5. 4 stitches.
My glasses cutting into my face when my face smacked into the windshield of a car that hit me because i was jaywalking. 4 Stitches
(http://www.hades-combine.com/images/scar3.jpg)
Huka coal landing on my wrist because of my dumb-ass stoned ex-girlfriend decided to smack the huka.
What didnt show up in pictures ::
2 individual scars about 1.5-2.5 inches long and about a half inch apart, parrallel, from running into a desk corner when i was 14.
A scar about 1.5 inches long, a hairs distance from the major blood vessels in my right wrist from putting my hand through a window pane as i was trying to close the door it was part of
A small circular scar the size of a computer case screw from a chunk of fles that disapeared from my right thumb.
-
I got a capilliary hemangioma (big red welt) on my left temple from where I hit my head. Also got a small gash from where my cat got me a year back.
-
I've got a 1.5 inch scar from when I was power washing our front steps... I turned and stood next to the washer and my leg hit the muffler (the thing had been running for 45 minutes, so it was REALLY hot... also, i had shorts on)
I have a slightly visible scar on my left thunb area from when our cat got scared and attacked when i tried to calm him down...
This doesnt exactly qualify as a scar, but my hands (yes, both of them) have calluses from playing drums so much... I have about 2 on each finger, excluding my left middle finger.... You know, I await the day when a girl says my hand doesnt feel good casue it has so many callusess on it.... lololol
-
I have an inch long scar on my thigh, and another inch long scar on my head ;)
-
I got you beat - 14 big stiches on my elbow...
-
I've got a nice little scar running from my little toe to my heal where I slid over some glass that was hidden in some mud, damn near cut my foot in half. :shaking:
-
I've got this massive scar smack in the middle of my stomach. I don't remember how it happened, but my mom says the doctors had to cut something off.
-
Your conjoined twin? :nervous:

The assault rifle he was born holding :p

Did you have a telepathic Martian rebel leader called Kuato attached to you by any chance?
I have an inch long scar on my thigh, and another inch long scar on my head ;)
Are they by any chance connected? Perhaps by some horrific cossack dancing accident?
-

Nope. I got the one on my head when I was 6. My younger brother hit me with a chair when we had a fight. He was only 4.
The one on my leg was from me jumping off from a 5 feet tall window when I was 8. My younger brother and I were playing hide and seek, and I hid behind the curtain of the huge window in my parents bedroom.
I guess I just made myself sound like a boy when I was a kid :p

Cut halfway into the muscle with a carpet knife. You should've seen it before it was sown ... :D
Btw, the one on the thumb was from when I was 4 or 5 years and got my fingers into the mechanics of a garage door. ;)
