Fs2_open can be played whiout any CD inserted, buy what about the videos? the Intro, and the rest of the retail campaing? I no know if I doing anything bad, but the videos like the intro cant be see, no even whit the original CD 2 Inserted... I know that is a change of the SCP, but, there dont are any posibility to add the feature of can see the videos on the retail campaing whit the cds inserted and/or, this is best, copying the videos files to the diretory of FS and the FS2_open use them? there is any chance?
Sorry about my english.

:welcome:
Sorry, but the "retail" MVE-Cutscenes aren't supported, because the MVE-Playing-Code is owned by Interplay...
So the SCP isn't allowed to use it...
It's very bad that the Search-Function is down, because your question is a very common one ;)
Okay... To make it short: The SCP can't play MVE, but it can play AVIs!
So you can either convert the MVEs to AVIs or you download already converted AVIs...
I'm don't have much time, so I cannot search any links (without the search-function)...
Uhm... But I think that you can find the Link in Karajormas FAQ or in the FS wiki (both links are on top of the Forum...)

Yep. Check the cutscenes section of my FAQ and you'll find out where to either download them from or how to make them yourself from the mve versions on the CD.

Hi! Rather than start a new thread -- Where do I put the .avi cutscenes? I'm using custom MediaVPs in a folder as a fs2_open mod. Can't find anything that says where to put the movies, though :(
-
You can put them in the mod folder. I run the fsport with movies from a seperate folder. For the fs2 retail campaign I put them in the root folder. seems to work well for me.

The movies must be in "data\movies"...

Actually the movies can go pretty much anywhere that FS2 looks. For the FS1 cutscenes the FS1 port folder is the best choice.
For the FS2 movies can go in Freespace2, Freespace2\Data or Freespace2\Data\Movies
I personally stuck them in my mediavps folder with the mediavps.
