Title: New guy asking for Multiplayer help
Post by: MetalGearCUban on January 25, 2006, 02:28:30 pm
Hey there Hard light, Long time reader first time poster. To get to the point, I've been trying to set up an LAN game to play the FS2 campaign on Co-op, yes I have gone to game-warden and I have downloaded the old FS2 build. The problem I am expierincing is that with the old FS2 build, whenever I go to host a game , the program crashes on me. I removed all the media files, but perhaps I'm missing some files that I may need to download. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I suspect I know the cause of this one.

Press F2 in  FS2 and then select the multiplayer options. Find the PXO button and make sure it's unlit.

Now try it again.

Thanks for replying, but I already did that, the problem is I keep on getting "one or more players has hacked data files" I already downloaded the tables that the forums in gamewarden asked me to. Also in running the old build it tells me I need 1 cd for every four players.

that means people are using different versions of the media vps or different builds or just have active mods. all computers need to be using the same stuff.

Seeing as you can't play validated missions on PXO or FS2NetD at the moment it's not really a problem unless you've got someone on your LAN who might actually edit the tables to cheat. :)
