I'm noticing a lot of cases now where a ship or a whole wing of hostiles will just sit there and wait to die.
For instance, I went into FRED and set up two capital ships to come in, wait a few seconds, go beam free, and waste eachother. Only the friendly terran team ship shoots. I can open the mission back up, go to edit ships, change the friendly ship to hostile and the old hostile vasudan ship to friendly, and then only the vasudan shoots. If I check the box for all teams at war, then they both shoot, but the friendly shoots at me too.
This kept occuring in the sync campaign missions I played through yesterday as well. I'm now on CVS 2/25/2006 build.

It's a problem with the latest build. I get it in Derelict too.
Not certain if it's in mantis yet. I'll check later.

Yeah, me too... In both Derelict and FS_port Campaings... the Derelict is a total disaster the enemy ships are runing in circles, and in FS_PORT there are several missions where the IA just do nothing... Bue in the oficial FS2 camaping all go fine by now...

It's actually a couple of bugs right now. The AI bug is currently in Mantis and is probably going to get addressed relatively soon. The friendly ship shooting at you in "All teams at war" is a bug with that flag and the new IFF code, as Goober misinterpreted what the flag was supposed to do. He's aware of it, but I don't know if it's in Mantis.

The "all teams at war" bug isn't in Mantis, but it's been fixed.
EDIT: The "AI moving in circles" bug is possibly related to a sorting problem that has also been fixed.

Dang, time to unequip the trebuchets and download the new CVS I guess. And my killcount was skyrocketing! :D

Yeap, its fixed, but remember that there still problems which the IA orders... sometimes the IA reject to follow orders and just fly "idle" in space.

When it's the FS AI, the correct term is "Stupider"
