How much of a money-grabbing console fanboi does a company have to be to release a strategy game ONLY for the Xbox 360???

Electronic Arts today announced that the highly anticipated PC game, The Lord of the Rings™, The Battle for Middle-earth™ II will make its exclusive console debut when it ships in Summer 2006 on the Xbox 360™.

Not sure how old this is, it was picked off an old forum, but still.

Um...you realise they mean the 360 is the only console it'll be released on, don't you?  (or more precisely, it'll be the only console the series debuts on, which doesn't rule out other console releases later on, although it'd be common sense to say you won't see it on the current gen)

The stupidity is really that RTS' are really all against the strengths of modern consoles.

Uhm, I can bull****. Consider that the game is available for beta testing on the PC. Consider that Voodoo Extreme has a batch of screenshots, posted within the last few days, of their play test. On the PC.

The press release says "The popular PC game". If it's coming out for PC, then what's the problem? Of course it's not coming out for PS2 or Gamecube, that would be absurd. What did you expect? In fact, it's pretty absurd that it's even coming out for the 360, but at least the system has the power to handle it. The gameplay, on the other hand, I can't imagine being very good.

Someone needs to read better. That means it will be on PC AND the Xbox 360.

And there is no fricken way for the game to control well at all. Unless EA has suddenly become the patron saint of innovation...

I read that as that they were changing the release to be for Xbox 360 only. My bad :) Still...it's retarded though. Imagine controlling an RTS with a gamepad? That's messed up.

I'm pretty sure that if we sat Benedict and EA down, they'd find a lot in common and we'd hear about EA being taken to congress to become a justice... ermm... wait...
