Title: Missing HUD elements
Post by: SnakeEyes on February 01, 2006, 01:35:40 pm
Hi:

CVS (27_01_2006)
3.6.8 Media VP´s downloaded about 2 or 3 days ago
No MODS and all tables remain unchanged.
Original FS2 clean installation VP´s

The problem is I don´t get  any hull damage % report on HUD as well as I can´t see my wingmen´s status (The red or green dots) on the right hand side of the HUD.

I´ve been banging my head trying to find the reason for the problem and I was wondering if it could have anything to do with the current build version. I have just tried CVS build from 31_01_2006. I also created a new pilot, just in case, but no joy.
I´ve  looked around on previous forum topics but I haven´t found anything. Is it likely something to with interface or hud files missing rather than a problem with the build?

Any advise appreciated.

Sorry guys I´ve just seen what the problem was.....
I deleted items from  Sparky_FS2 thinking that they would have a high res version in Sparky_hi_fs2.vp
That generated missing elements on hud.

Ouch. You should never ever touch the :v: VP files.

It's far easier to override anything that is causing you a problem.

And you shouldn't post "original FS2 clean installation VPs" if that's not the case. :p

You're right Goober.

I did not want to accept it after spending so much time lowering down the size of the installation by removing what I thought were "obsolete" files.

I gave it a go and installed the original V files and learned the "lesson"

Sorry for that mates.  :eek2:
